I hate it when gods are right, even worse with Titans! No Dave this Christmas, or ch5 HDThe lockdown dates come from DS user Strathclyde - he is involved in the broadcast industry & his info is always accurate.

I think I´ll stick with the sun, ambient temperature and my cooking! Thanks for the invite though..........You could always come to Blighty for Christmas, Brian - It's real warm right now (albeit gloomy and damp) and promises to remain so.
Best of both worlds - cr*p TV and cr*p weather.
And cr*p food.
That is a different case. Here the HD channel has been squeezed onto an already heavily populated transponder. Bitrate of some of the SD channels is now below 2Mbps which means unwatchable on any reasonable sized television set. Just checked a minute ago and C5 +24 had a bitrate of 1.1Mbps.Wishful thinking like all HD ITV-2,3 & 4
Yup - all the advertising regions have been removed - its believed C5 will be using the smartad capabilities of the box where local ads are downloaded onto the reserved portion of the hard drive & played out at the appropriate pointI used to have multiple ch5´s but when I looked they came up with service error. Rescan has removed them, only seeing one ch5 now and the encrypted 7750. Maybe they have made some space
Is this the new $ly Q box? Will the older HD+ boxes also be persuaded to do this? Without a hard disc I can't see the standalone HD box doing this though.its believed C5 will be using the smartad capabilities of the box where local ads are downloaded onto the reserved portion of the hard drive & played out at the appropriate point
A new thought occurs. They could go on 105 when BBC3 leaves the airwaves to go on-line only.If C5HD does go on to the Freeview platform then they've long since lost their natural position at 105
Is that really going to happen? Or is it going to be another BBC u-turn.
All passed & approved by the BBC Trust, its going ahead early next year.
