Hi,

The motor on the attached picture came with the bundle I picked up on saturday but unfortunately the label is unreadable. It looks like a Jaeger 1224 one but being unable to find what model it is, I'm finding hard to figure out how to align it.

Can anybody please identify if possible?

Thanks!

Looks like Jaeger 99G H-H Mount to me, the baby version of the 1224.
36V version.

I've found somewhere it's a Jaeger SMR-128G, which I assume is a good motor?

Does anybody have a copy of the manual? Thanks

Aahh yes, the SMR-99 was the one with the pole I remember now...
It is just wired like any standard 36V actuator..

I might have a manual for the Silentgold version of that H-H, which I were think made by Geotrack they were almost identical.
Will have a look when I get home.

i think thats what i have (SMR-128G) driving my CM1.2 - ive also acquired 2 x SMR-99Gs thinking they would be useful spares...i cant see the difference physically but wish i'd look more closely when it was on the ground.

I thought you just removed the stem bit and then its the same motor (if you already have the other style dish bracket (on the 128G) which i obviously do)

theres some pics and detail here:

check out alignment nut difference

Do you guys have inside photos of smr-99 or smr128?
What does that big red screw?

afraid not.

I just got one today but I´m afraid to open that box where the arm is connected.

The motor arrived but did not work, dc voltage was present at motor wiring, i did clean the brushes and rotor, it was dirty on the rotor/brushes contacts and now motor spins nice.
I think grease inside that arm box is very old, should I open it or its better leave it?

Thanks

if its working now, leave it. mine works nice, and powers my 1.2m CM no problems.

At first it was very difficult to rotate the shaft, but now it moves a lot better.

I cannot find any info about the big red screw on the arm box, the manual don´t say anything about it. Maybe it´s for the auto backlash adjustment.

For how long did you use that motor on CM?
I have 2 CM 120cm, one has an smr1224 the other uses a 24" actuator.

This motor I got its made by metronic and it uses diseqc, and I think it´s the same motor made by Jaeger but with a control board to allow diseqc. It moves a lot faster comparing it with Digipower/Moteck I have.

Regarding the motor at the first photo, it could be also an SMR128HQ

Many years ago I bought an NEC system which had a rebadged Jaeger 99-type motor, used it for a few years and then didn't for nearly another 10 yrs - therefore, when I got to use it again, I did remove the panel over the gearbox, saw the grease had congealed, and so cleaned that out and repacked it with (IIRC) lithium-based "LM" "car grease" from the garage and it worked fine after that.

I did open it on the arm box side, all 3 bearings seemed ok, without rust, they shine like new, I cleaned old grease from worm shaft and gearbox, and regrease it again.
On the motor box side below the reed I did not opened yet, but maybe i will do it also today.
Is this a quiet motor in operation? seems to be a bit louder than sg2100a

Mine came without that plastic thing that slides to the arm to protect the bolts and to prevent water from entering inside, what can I do there?

I will test it later today.

TBH, it's so long since I used (and then disposed of) it that I can't remember, but it was certainly not "silent" - so I think it was/is nosier than at least some DiSEqc motors (certainly noisier than my current Dark Motors)!

mines petty noisy, but i think thats the noise echoed and amplified by my pole - through brackets \ kitchen extension wall.
