A copy of the Channel 5 package on 10964 H has been on 11306 H for some time now. I suspect 10964 H will shut down in the near future or is there another reason for the transmission on 11306 H?
At my location 11306 H is very weak compared to 11306 V and 11344 H/V. Anyone know the reason for this?
11306 H was previously used by Freeview and then there was no difference in strength compared to the other transponders listed above.

Both 10964H and 11306H are SKY transponders. I suspect a change to 11306H is coming soon. Maybe November 1st?

Presumably Channel 5 got a better deal on the transponder space. 11306H is one of the weakest UK beam transponders here too, probably saving a few quid by transmitting at a lower power.

edit: ah didn't realise it was a Sky transponder, it had a Globcast promo on for a short while before the Channel 5 channels appeared.

It was used by Freeview (same package as on 11608 H now) earlier this year.

Very low in Benidorm with famaval 135m. I can't tell how how many dB's I have but my receiver (Octagon SF 8008) shows 58% signal in the past TP and only 43% in the new one. I still receive it and it's is watchable just because it is not 8PSK. And we are in the strongest mouth of the year, let's see what happens in June, I suppose we will loose it.

Let's see if they adjust the signal in the future, let's hope some people have problems in the UK...

Its down a bit compared to other tp's at 28E but its plenty strong enough.

No doubt it'll be switched over to 8PSK when the SD shut down starts gathering pace next year

According to Lyngsat the old transponder was FEC 5/6 whereas 11306H is 2/3 so that's an extra 2.1dB margin for lock.

I'm also struggling with Channel 5 here in Italy since the TP changes. I used to get it in winter during the day. However if I unplug the Skybox (Pace DS43On) then switch it on again then the picture comes back briefly for around half an hour before losing the signal again. Could be the Skybox is failing although I get the other channels ok, except for BBC news channel which has also recently disappeared.

BBC News is now on 12 422 H (27 500 2/3 DVB-S) in SD and in HD on 11 023 H (23 000 3/4 DVB-S2 8PSK which makes it harder to get).

Channel 5 is coming in at around 10,0 dB here. Used to be 11,5 dB on the previous transponder (10 964 H).

Thanks for the info. Maybe my 1.80 dish won't be big enough in the future. From what I read HD transponders seem to have a weaker signal - I will have to update my receiver anyway if they switch off SD.

The problem when switching to HD is the use of DVB-S2 and 8PSK (instead of QPSK) which requires a stronger signal for stable reception.
