Its the one with the wacky wings. That explains it.

Still, its better than nothing, I suppose.

4m prodelin or 3.7 and up andersen dish? I doubt that anyone will be wanting a 4m or 3.7m dish on there solarium! LOL. Surefire way of getting a divorce.. mmm now theres a thought!

As I originaly said "I have been getting excellent results using a 1.4 dish just outside Torrevieja with a 0.1db LNB to receive Sky tv using the channel Islands frequencies"

95% of my customers want to receive BBC ITV CH4 etc so installing a monstorous dish would not go down very well. I have installed hundreds of big dishes on Costa Blanca, I cannot help but notice every dish as I drive around the Costa Blanca and I have never seen anything above a 3.1?

The only time I saw anything bigger than a 3.1 was the big dish in the Industrial Estate opposite Quesada used by "Telemicro" when the Police raided there offices, so I am a tad confused about what you are saying? I suppose if money is no object and you live in a James Bond style compound with lots of land then installing 4m satellite dishes could be an option.

I think I will stick to installing 1.4 - 1.45 - 1.9 and 2.4 with or without petals.

I think the dishes you mention are really just for "hard-core" satellite eficianado's... really apreciate the information about these other dishes though, can you give me a clue of any suppliers that are in or near the Costa Blanca? other than "Anywhere that does professional grade dishes"

2.4 Famaval dish giving 52% Quality! This dish is located in Quesada, was working on it today! In really strong winds.. Really enjoying this forum, have learnt a lot already!

Hi Pipino, have you information from your contacts at Astra that Astra 2 is having a battery change in April? Please confirm what you know... Surely any maintenance will be carried out without disrupting the 10 million or so subscribers to both SKY TV & freesat TV?

Found a Prodelin 1451 Series 4.5M dish on ebay : I bid €2'000 just been out bid by Jodie Foster. :)

No one said anything about a battery change. April (and September) is eclipse season. The satellite goes into the Earth's shadow every evening for up to one hour for a period of six weeks centred on the equinox. This is the only time when the satellite switches to battery power rather than solar and transmitted power output drops significantly, usually to well below the point where the satellite can be resolved with a 1.8m dish.

And none of them receive BBC2 24/7, if at all.

thanx for the technical explanation huevos ;) ,i can tell you at least theoricaly in costa blanca to have trouble free reception for the whole Astra 2 satellite specialy around the critical evening hours you must have over 5 metre dish at least and thats apply specialy for the horizontal low (BBC2...etc)transponders ,bear in mind if you get to set this kind of dishes we are talking about high quality LNB and OMT or FEEDHORN as you can get some overlaping from Badr satellite positioned at 26º...cheers

Come on be realistic mate! For the benefit of people that are looking for information about receiving sky tv on the Costa Blanca... You do not need a 5M dish! FACT

The most popular size dish in the Torrevieja area is a 1.9 dish or a 2.4, I live in Entre Naranjos just outside Los Montesinos (not in the mountains) and I receive BBC2 24/7 on a 1.9 dish. FACT

The Urbanization has nine 2.4 dishes that have had the petals fitted, these provide BBC BBC2 ITV etc through the community system (FACT)

I am at 806 so if you dont beleive me pop round.

So where are these 5m dishes sold? (Fith request)Humping

when i say costa blanca i´m refering to my region (javea and sourrounding) torrevieja is somewhere else so we are talking about 2 differents sites ,and the objective is to receive BBC2 transponder 24/7 in my area ,so far even with 4.20 dish we never got 24/7 signal of BBC2,if you look around you can find easly 5M dishes if you want..may be not in spain but defo you can find them somewhere else...here is one sample _http://catalog.vincor.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DH%2DGIB50M%2DDP
