Well I think you've done the right thing: Having a budget that's too small usually means upgrading down the line and can work out more expensive in the long run.

Laminas 1.2M fibre dish with an IBU, on a Clarke Tech USALS motor, covering 57E - 24.5W to an Octagon SX88. Displayed on a 20" Dyon LED TV.

Seperate 80 cm dish on 28E with a Humax Freesat for SWMBO.
Free Sat V8 meter. Sony Bravia 46" LCD, Sony BluRay and Home Cinema.

That should be a really high performance system. If you've gone for the VU+ Duo I assume you have also asked for an Inverto Black Ultra Twin ?

i thought about that, but dont really need the twin tuner, i just got it for future proofing, so will stick with single lnb for the time being

i doubt il record 2 different channels on say 13.0E

something to think about though, might ask the fitter to run 2 cables just incase.

I was going to have one input from my Sky dish to my cheap PCI card
Upgrade to HD
Get a second fixed dish on Hotbird
Motorise it
4 inputs and new boxes
Black ultra

Costed more than the £50 I planned!

Once you have two tuners, to get the most out of the box you need two motorised dishes... or a fixed multi-LNB setup.

Vu+ Duo has arrived at home, so says city link tracking and a 1Tb Drive on route too.

got Rick to come down and install the kit, did an awesome job!

pic taken from iphone, but will put some better ones up asap

Final Spec was:

Penta 85 dish,
TM2600 motor
T&K brackets,
inverto ultra black twin lnb
vu+ duo receiver
twin cabling

really enjoying it!
