Oh by the way I have just got a new super power jack HARL 3612 (reed sensor) although it's a light grey colour, on my vbox full travel gives 450 pulse counts for about 11-11.5 inches. But it does seem a little noisy to me. Hope this helps

BTW I just looked at the spec of that actuator and it goes 6mm per second so you are only using using 9cm out of the 30cm stroke. How many clicks on the v-box or receiver is it between 36ºE and 37.5ºW? I'm just trying to get an idea of resolution as I am thinking of changing my diseqc motor to something similar to yours.

Hmm, well it must take longer than I thought it does because it's definitely going further than 9cm!
I think it's about 475 counts between the hardware limits I've set on the actuator. Like I said in a previous post on this thread, I definitely could expand the limits a bit. I could probably get 45ºe to maybe 50ºw.

Well maybe it is moving faster than the spec sheet says. If it is a DARL it goes 76 counts per inch and if it is a HARL (which it looks like from the photos) it goes 48 counts per inch so with 475 counts must be moving about 10 inches.

Going to 45ºE east would be good (Prima TV on 45ºE has films in English and TNT on 42ºE). Not too much going further west except occasional feeds.

Well, I've had a 1m ISS there for the past year and nobody touched that. That might say something about ISS dishes perhaps? Although I found it performed quite nicely.

If someone's going to steal it, that's just life. However, they'll look like a complete tool hobbling down the road with a roll of spanners, a dish and a polar mount

Not to mention the "doh" moment when they register on Satellites.co.uk to ask for help in setting up their shiny new dish and actuator :-rofl2

They must do. It must be what they do in the Netherlands instead of ripping telecoms cables out of the ground and weighing them in.

The actuator isn't all that shiny. It was on a pole above my gutter for over a year. :-P
