this 12360H tp shows Arte,but sound seems to be on an unusual AAC version.
It also carries a test of the new technology described in the link.
What should we ,consumers and curious people,make of this?

In simple terms, it could be said that it bypasses the classic TS format and replaces it with IP format.
 
so,what would I need to be able to use the box shown inmessage #2?

I have come across IPTV delivery boxes in the BBC but those are certainly not FTA. The IP address has to be shared between each end. The Peruvian box is just using a different DVB mode to deliver FTA content via satellite/ Its not a two way thing like in Ka band.
 
any chance we get a Peruvian style box in Europe sometime?

Only a receiver with dvb-nip support. No one has written SW for classic receivers or cards yet.

so it's still modulated over DVB-S2? I don't quite understand the difference as SAT-IP can already distribute the TS as internet packets
 
Yes, it can be modulated also as DVB-S2
