But some bolts could be kept where they were before dismantling if the bolts were locked by an nut against the welded one. Then you would only have to undo a few to dismantle.
It's got to be one of the worst mounts ever designed. When you tighten the bolts they dent the pole.

You are right as always. However this could be true if pole made of paper  or came out of shelf. It also depends of size of dish mounted on top.

It still marks it. It's like a stiletto heel. And if you do it up and the alignment was slightly out it marks the pole and then when you try to readjust it keeps going back to the point where the pole is marked.

A proper clamp that fits the pole and spreads the load is a much better idea.

Thank you all for the ideas. Reason why Im after it as level as possible, Currently have a USALS setup drilled into a slab but at some point the slabs shifted, can either get 0w to 50e fine, or 30w to 0w fine, not both. For a while compensating, like 15.2w etc worked fine, but it's so far offset now it just plain is broke.

Not managed to get out and buy some concrete yet so still some time to decide!

Slab?

I correct mine by tapping plywood wedges under the corners.

Quick, easy, cheap and effective.

You havent seen the slab I used. :p It took two of us to pick up, 2 inch thick about 2 meter long by 1m wide. Im kind of just 'over it' and want a secure pole. :/

Friend insisted he had a plan to concrete it in level, so I did that rather than make it adjustable. Got the dish on it earlier and its 100% working so thank you for all the ideas, Im sure others will appreciate them.

Photo of how we did it: Bricks at the bottom, wood to keep the pole from moving whilst the postcrete set.
