I wonder if any one would give me details of a sat finder please

Hi everyone,
Now that Gary's saga is coming to an end, I wonder if any one would give me details of a sat finder please?

I don't have a clue how to use one but I'm considering motorising my 80cm dish. I paid to have my DM set up but I woud like to try and put a motor on myself. Reading this ongoing saga has motivated me to try and learn more about these issues. When I fix the motor, I presume that I will lose the satellites that it's tuned to, so I will need to find at least one of them, I guess. Am I right in thinking, that once I have found one, the motor will pick up the other birds or am I being optimistic?

I would like to know what will do the job and how much it is likely to cost and what other equipment I might need.

It all depends on the make of your dish, how easily it can be converted, and what might lie in the way of other satellites you might like to get.

Take some pictures of what you have and others should be able to help with rough pricing.

Thanks Channel hopper, I wiil take some pictures and post them. It will have to be tomorrow now. I don't know what kind of dish I have but it's metal not fibre glass. I may need a new mount but we will see. Thanks again.

Hi thanks for that. If I have got it right , he is probably about 30kl. from me. I think it's just Noth of a Town called Villa Joyosa.
