Finally, it appears that the transfer of the channels have started at C band.
According to Lyngsat the 4064H 19850 7/8 shifted satellite.
Before I had signal strength of 10.2 dB on Intelsat 10, Intelsat 20 I have 11.3dB.
Slightly stronger , wondering if I get into Indian 8qpsk channels.

I can receive the Following txp with several Indian channels, strength in parentheses.
68 East: (only listed txp with many channels)
4103V (5.9)
3864H (7.0)
4013H (8.1)
4090H (9.0)
then there are several more Indian txp but I would need a 3m satellite dish to get into them.

Think you can get in some txp on a 1.8m, but if you want receive many, it is probably a 3m only option.

Also a large number of Indian channels on 66 east Intelsat 17, strength is about the same but the slope of the horizon is slightly better!

He has already given you that answer - 3712H isnt available on his 2.4m, and a 3m dish is likely to be needed in Sweden and therefore where you are. Plus you would need a suitable subscription as they are encrypted..

Might be a bigger dish is needed as well as they are DVB-S2 & 8PSK

I was trying to catch NHK channels on IS-20 3840 H with my 1,8m C-Band dish, but no luck.. What is the real strength of this signal?

Yes, I think so. Can somebody confirm in Europe/UK that it is possible to receive IS-20 3840 H, and if so - what is the dish size? And experience about the reception during the year - how the signal changes.

You should get it easy ,I think. Friendly modulation and FEC: S2QPSK 2/3 , lock around 3db.

Reception with 2,2m.

Thanks, interesting info. Lithuania is above Poland, so I think I should use at least 2,5m dish. Now my question is - where can I buy a good 3 m parabolic dish in Europe? This size is a problem in Lithuania..

Buying a bigger dish ain`t any problem even in Europe as there are still companies that can supply anything you want..... But the question is how much you want to spend.
For your information there`s a price list of Prodelin dishes made by General Dynamics attached in this reply. It is more or less similar to the final price you`ll end up paying when the dish is ordered in Europe.

For example, my Prodelin 1375-990 3.7m cost $3742.55 - (3.7m with polarmount, C band feedhorn + OMT: $3195.15, Delivery from Germany to Slovakia: $547.40).


Otherwise, if you`re lucky enough, there are time by time used or brand new dishes available for a quarter of the new Prodelin dish. In my case, I`ve been waiting for this opportunity for last 11 years... But now I`m a happy owner of the new Patriot 3.8m & 5m antennas even I already have 2x 3m mesh, 2x offset Prodelin 2.4m and 5x offset Prodelin 1.8m.
Because more and more transponders use DVB-S2 8PSK modulation, 3m+ has become simply basic requirement for DXing in C band.

Some time ago I found this site/manufacturer (RF HAMDESIGN) of mesh dish: 3 Meter MESH DISH KIT (F/D=0.4 - 0.45)
Are they reliable and what about performance?
