If budget isn't an issue, I would go directly to Prodelin and get a quote for their 3.7m dishes. Sematron is one of the resellers here - Prodelin | Sematron. They 4m and 5m dishes as well.

@nelson_b - any chance of trying this on your 3m Prod?

Just e-mailed my brother and told him to check this thread ..and take a look at Nelsons results ...
very interesting indeed..
Cheers for the actual test Nelson mate ..
much appreciated..
Might be doable afterall ..

..assuming it is ...
where would he get a 3.6m dish in the UK or Europe ..
remember ...budget aint really an issue here ...
more relevant is prolly the logistics of distance and aquisition time ?

I think he would be best to wait for some more results from other parts of the country ...
it looks like it varies a lot ... these signals are very weak at best, the skies were quite clear while i was playing around .. just hazy sunshine ... cloud and rain would be a zero here perhaps ?

@Captain Jack .. 3 m prodelin has been taken down last month ... limited tests in Ku showed it to be no better and sometimes less than the 1.8 c.m.
It is a very old dish with slight imperfections of its panels ... ok for C band ... (i Had good results especially from "linear" Paksat) but i ran out of patience with it for k/u

Agree. Contact Prodelin (GM Satcom) or Vertex in Germany, or a reseller for one of the larger dishes.
Although I have never tried one (I only wish), their 3.7+ SMC dishes are nice, as are the even bigger stuff.
Even the PF 4.8.-6.3 meter stuff are really nice, but is your brother's company ready to shell out 15+ grand on a dish, and then also the foundations, controllers etc?

(while keeping in mind this is still very "maybe")

But Shireley, a VPN and slingbox and even a leased line would be substantially cheaper, wouldn't it?

They have I believe used slingboxes before ...but dont want to go down that route this time..
I know not why ..
I suspect they need full and uninterruptable control maybe..?

Doesn't BeIN Sports offer an official IPTV subscription? I'm sure one of the Arab sports packages did (either through their own box or through their website), might be worth looking into that coupled with a VPN over to the Middle East?

They have other dishes at their disposal to try ...
I'm informed that they have tried the MENA beam on a 2.4 ...and they have had some success ...but is very intermittent..
so ..3.6 may well do the job ...but I suspect 5m might be needed for unbroken reception in all weathers..

Being a footy fan i went through this once before with limited success, Some BeIN channels are on 19.2e and like already said on 7.3w.
25.5 was impossible for me on my 1.1m dish and just NW of Manchester.

IPTV as already mentioned would be great, however ive searched for a legal service provided by BeIN and could find nothing.

Only other alternative is watching on Canal+ also on 19.2e, this shows a lot of English games and sometimes there is an English audio option.

Good luck though, ill be interested how you get on :)

If they get it working ask for a slingbox feed of a receiver so you can have a look at 25.5E ;) :D

beIN connect is easy enough to sign up for, but the quality is non too clever, nowhere near HD quality.
