ITV / C4 & possible beam changes affecting fringe reception areas

Hi Cyprus here.... 12402 and 12480 are at 50% signal quality.... don't know if its changed as I have only had it for 2 weeks.

ladybug is a very happy bunny!! We just had a 1.5 dish installed and we have all the ITV channels back.

Anyone in Malta should have heard me whoop for joy about 20 minutes ago

Did something happen today with FIVE ? Suddenly the signal got stronger and works better on a 1.5m dish.

I can only get ITV 1 and ITV HD with a 1.5m dish and I don't think you can do better than that with this size of dish.

I have a sky digibox with a 1.5 meter dish but I cant receive ITV as you people seem to be getting. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Dish alignment, failing LNb, skew adjustment, cable water ingress, poor F termination or a failing box. Anyone of them could effect some transponders, especially the weaker ones

have you tried the ITVs on 11973 v - that require a sky card?

Ah but Im not neccessarily wrong

Reception in extreme fringe areas can change dramatically over a few miles so the fact one fm can get Astra 2D on a 1.5m dish in Malta does not mean you can if you live more than a couple of miles away

Other things to consider - your dish may be marginally misaligned / the lnb may not be matched to the dish very well / the tuner in your receiver may be weak / cables may be failing.

Hi all,

Two years ago I had a full subscription with sky meaning I had sports and movie packages. At that time ITV was receivable except during bad weather so that means the signal must be borderline in strenght. When settanta took over the premiere league I cancelled my subscription with Sky and only received the free channels. I then installed another satellite for hotbird and Astra so my interest in sky was minimal if not nothing at all.

But now cause of the world cup i switched on my digibox but I am not receiving ITV at all and the weather is great. So I was wondering if there has been any changes to ITV cause I still receive other free channels.

It could be because of different ITV regions on different transponders. Trymanual tune on 12.402V and 11.973V 27500 2/3

on 12402 I got no signal and on 11973 gothe message to insert new viewing card

Hi Gozo ITV has been the pits for the last few weeks and I got so cranky one night I hit on the 7450 that analoguesat gave us ages and ages ago and wallah!! Perfect reception, never misses a beat.

Now you know I have no clue why that is but that's how it's working over here in St J's

I still can't get ITV2 but I think I may have a fix for that after my wee sat guy visits at the weekend.
