King of the sunflowers 2017

Well one spindly one is currently flowering the one with the thickest stem is showing little sign of budding or flowering and has reached almost 6ft, unfortunately a family emergency means I am unable to provide evidence at this time as we are shooting down to the smoke early doors to support our daughter who has been taken ill.

Sunflowers today. tallest at almost nine feet, others' heads drooping with their seeds.

Very poor mine this year just showing signs of flower so they wont get much taller, I'm considering topping them they will make a nice display with more heads.

Mine are really poor this year, the one that was flowering has been devoured whilst I was away despite copious amounts of pellets, the strongest and tallest is forming the head at the moment but I will be lucky to top 6 foot this year, will take pictures when gardening later on

Mine didn't look like they were going to get to 7 foot this year.Two have flowered just under 8 foot .the one on the right is at 9 foot it may put a bit more on.The two mongolian giants just made 7 foot.Maybe they only grow tall in Mongolia.

Ours are still growing - and the first official measurement puts the tallest one at 2.44m, or just about 8 foot. They should get a bit bigger yet as the heads havent opened.

One of them got snapped off in the last strong winds we had as the allotment where we are growing them is fairly exposed.

Well Topper may have a surprise for you, but in reality it was a surprise for me when I returned from Scotland, one of the smaller narrow stalks has decided to reach for the stars

one of mine has surprised me too.I thought that this one was going nowhere.It is now just over eleven foot.The tip of the cane is 11 foot.
Edit the one on the left is a Mongolian Giant.
