Also, as digi247 says, these are the only Vu+'s with proper hardware blindscan, which DOES work. Something tells me you'll be disappointed with Solo2 for this particular task (blind scanning) but this is going on what other people say and not my personal experience.
Am repeating myself here - but I've never got blindscan to work with the solo2 (OpenVIX, pretty much up-to-date). Even if I manage to install the module it either finds nothing or crashes enigma2.

Well. Blind scan would be nice but not essential. The main reason for getting a new reciever is I am fedup with the Alien freezing on dead transponders.I thought about the VU+solo They are cheaper than the solo2.However I think that if I am going to get a new one I may as well get the latest version.

Well - that was my reasoning as well :) I don't really need the blindscan. I can always do that with my Openbox if I really need it. It's easy enough to keep the transponder lists up-to-date, anyway.

What image are you running on the Alien when it freezes, original, E2 or both?

I nave had them all on at some time.I like Hyperionv3 which I have had on for some time now.Don't get me wrong I think that for normal use it is a good reciever.Good tuner.Display.My problem is I am always scanning feed transponders. Most have no signal.then the reciever slows down. There was a lot of comment on the other forum about it.Most said that it was remote lag but it is not.

Some good news.My neighbour has got a friends solo2 to check out.He knows nothing about E2 so he brought it around here.I had a good hour messing around with.I like it. I wondered how it would cope with the motor on my 100 cm dish 30 meters away no problem.I was definitly going to get one today.Problem W O S has not got any.:(

Lo martin. I am a TM fan. I Fancied a TM nano but looking round the forums no one seems to have one. There does not seem to be much info on them.I want to get it right this time so I thought that I would go for a well supported one.

This is one of those rare occasions where there is too much choice.
I have been changing my mind that much that I thought that I was going to get it done with and order one today. No Go. so it is still not settled.

Edit again.I have not given up on the TBS6925 yet either.:)

It was blind scan that first attracted me to it.But reading all the threads about it I think that it may be way above my head. But you never know. For now I have decided to take the safe route. I know where I am with a Linux reciever.

If it was me and your still going for a Linux Enigma2 receiver with Blindscan then the Vu Uno which can be had from Ebay for around £180 is a great choice for a single tuner and if you feel the need to go for 2 feeds in the future £60 buys the Twin tuner Plug & Play module.

Just my personal preference for a VU+ as i feel they have more support than any other receiver and you can use Blackhole image my favourite, Had a TM twin and basically at the moment all TM's Linux E2 models are just basically the same broadcom chipset as what is used in the Vu Duo just with more Nand Flash and Ram memory, Rumour is there are newer models to come out called the TM-2T-Super, TM-Nano-Super etc... which are based on the same chipset as what is used in the current Solo2 and perhaps one model based on the Duo2

I did think about the older models.I have spent my life buying something then finding out that it has been replaced by a new version. My first computer was a commadore vic 20.I had not had it long before I found out that the commadore 64 was the latest.I have been playing catch up ever since.Though I have been tempted to get an older model.I think that I will go for the latest one.

Let's hope you didn't replace the C64 with a C16 :)
