Has anyone tried an enigma 2 box with this in ka-band?

Yes Chris, on my DM8000. No problem with LC2, unlike with my DR HD F15.

I would assume the same as with any other box
set the lnb as single with custom value of 20250
If using the lnbs internal diseqc switch ..(single cable to lnb)
presumably this would need simple diseqc 1.0
AA > BB
A being Ku & B being Ka..
but since I'm not using this method ..perhaps someone else could advise ...

If you are using a 2 cable system ...and a diseqc 1.1 switch ....then control would be sent from the receiver to the switch ...and the relevant used ports connected by those 2 cables to the lnb.

Yep it is ...but not as bulky as an SL3 thank gawd..

In actual fact there is some empty space inside ..looking at the internal pics ..Inverto could have made it a little smaller..

A clearer view of the inside, and some component details. The problem with many ICs used in these LNBs is trying to find out what they are, unless they are from well-known manufacturers.

Trying to work out how the Ka/Ku switching is achieved...

This aint gonna be easy ..Llew ..as most of those chips dont appear to be standard components..
I suspect most are custom masks.

LA8522 is a dc to dc convertor..

The 2 large chips have red paint marks on them...(custom)
usually this indicates ..either programmable content ...or programable PLA
programmable logic array ..
I suspect at least one of them is a PIC

It does appear connected directly too the 25mhz ref xtal ...so looks promising..

You'll note from the pdf ..it is designed for Ku use ...much as you suspected earlier..
PLL on Ku ..dro on Ka ??....and also references a 25mhz xtal...

Can you check pinning for the xtal llew ...If 11 and 12 ..and there are 16 pins on the device ..then I suspect we have nailed at least one device...

Difficult to check that VS. It's a 12-pin device, and if those tags at either end of the xtal are its connections, they go to capacitors which terminate to almost ground. I really need to know the xtal connections on this IC.

Hmm ..thats odd Llew cos I see that device ..at least from your photo as a 16 pin device ..
6 on each side ...plus 2 at each end ....

chances you'll get more channels by inputting the scan parameters manually buddy..
most receivers have trouble scanning in low SRs with very little seperation frequency wise when using blindscan ..
Try again ..but input the parmeters manually ..then wait a few seconds ..whilst your receiver gains lock ...then scan transponders individually..

transponder details listed at Flysat ...
also these can vary a little so be prepared to shift the frequency by 1 ..up or down..
Even then you may have enough signal but the receiver cant lock..
Example such as the F15 SX6 debacle recently posted on this thread..
Only a PLL Ka lnb can make sense and lock these signals effectively...if they are borderline..
Sadly we think the Inverto is not PLL in Ka..

Probably the strongest channel here is Vision4 21538 H
Often topping 13.5db ...
Ironically this locks no probem on the SX6 or TBS card with the Inverto ...but the f15 refuses to lock it...
However the XMW capturing the same signal at similar levels will lock on the the SX6 or the TBS ...and the F15..
PLL is king ..but the inverto is a good value second..
