Today gets worse, just gone out to the car, to pop to the chemists, and it won't start, the battery has failed :-(

But it has also gone into lock down, the alarm is still armed.

So can't get the pills today, got v.w. Coming to get the car started, and towed back to the workshop.

Then it's going to need the new battery, and lots of re-coding.

I can only imagine what the cost will be £££

How old is the battery, Chris?

I am only guessing, but I think it's the one from new.

No lights, or warning, went to turn the key, and it clicked, tried again, and nothing, so I gave it 1 last try, and all the lights on the dash came on.

Phoned VW and told them what happened, and they have a new battery in stock for it, but the imobiliser has kicked in, so they need to come and pick the car up, so they are going to plug something into it, that will allow it to start, and they will be able to jump start it, to put it in "emergency mode" to be able to drive it back to the workshop.

Then they will replace the battery, and reprogram the alarm etc.

I am dreading the bill.

On top of everything else that needs money.

My bank accounts are going to take I dive I bet.

Last time this happened to me (Fortunately in the days before Cars became motorised Computers), the problem turned out to be no more than a slightly less than firmly connected battery clamp.

The very idea of a Cat flavoured Soup turns my stomach.
