I have a problem with a Panasonic TU-SB20 which keeps freezing. Sometimes it won't even reset for hours. I have read on other forums that the latest software is incompatible with some older models. I have spoken to Sky about this who claim this type of problem is quite rare and that the new software would not effect viewing. They did however offer to send an engineer who, for a one off charge of £65, would fix the problem, guaranteed. Further investigations have suggested that these engineers turn up with refubished boxes, which have been upgraded to handle the new software. I also informed Sky I knew a number of people who had experienced exaclty the same problems, so if it was so rare, how come it had happened to so many people in such a comparitively small area. This was passed off as purely coincidental.
Is there anyone out there who has encountered these problems, or any engineers who know what is going on. If it is found to be a problem with software, why should we the customers, paying monthly subscriptions have to fork out for second hand equipment to continue watching Sky tv.
