Hi,

This morning I picked up this 1.2m IRTE Prime Focus dish I bought from eBay and I have a couple of questions.

For the past week I've been looking in the specs of this dish and more information and all I've been able to find is a 2 or 3 page PDF posted here and not much but I would like to know if based on the mount that came with the dish, can I put a 18" Geotrack linear actuator instead or will I need to get a different mount?

Also, does anybody know where I could look into the extension petals for IRTE dishes - would like to eventually extend it to 1.5m.

Also, I'm surprised how flimsy it feels - I thought it would have been my current budget 110cm dish feels stronger than the IRTE. I will also need to paint it..

Thanks.

You would need the original IRTE polarmount to fit a linear actuator, what you have bought is an aftermarket HtoH mount.

Try what you have picked up first though, it may work fine since the original mount is designed for a 4" pole, and you don't have one

There are no extender panels for the 1.2m, only the 1.5 (taking the diameter to 2m, and they are very rare)

It came with the pole and the T&K bracket so I'll set it up after I get a positioner. I also wonder if it would be enough for cband and if I can use the scaler ring that usually comes with the cband LNBs

Stick to one band only.

I would go for the Ku as the reflector out performs the Precision equivalent if straight.

Does anybody have an manual for this dish? Thanks

I was looking through another box of parts a couple of hours ago and found what is possibly the later / last version of the IRTE polarmount design for use with linear actuators. This had a clamp system for 3 inch posts from memory but it was a long time ago.

I will pull out the bolt pack over the weekend and take pictures.

On closer inspection it may be a 2" post design, with bolt holes for the mini type linear actuators.
