Sounds like you may well have a faulty motor if a set top box is having trouble driving it ..
My advice would be to eliminate the lnb first ..
Just disconnect it ..the motor will drive ok without it to stored positions.
If all is ok then...suspect the lnb of loading the system.
If the fault persists make up a seperate short run and get the Openbox outside with a small monitor or tv ...and physically watching the motors movements ..
Again ..if all is OK ...suspect the original cabling.
If the fault is still there ..suspect the motor.
Eliminate all other possibilities first ..as changing a motor can be a tricky operation.
If your motor is the problem and is causing the sticking ..then dont connect to the TBS card ..as the current drawn through the card to drive the motor might damage the card..and it aint cheap to replace.
Process of logical elimination is all you can do ..
good luck

I can confirm now that the one you sent back is working fine here, sounds like incompatability with your system.

Cheers mate, at least this one isn't disappearing from Windows every 2 minutes! Great service though, thanks again :)

Well... Today I got a new motor up (Supreme), and my Openbox drives it perfectly well, USALS all working a treat.

But still no joy with driving via the TBS. Scans and decodes fine, but will not sodding well drive it.

Bah! :/

It's been suggested today on the TBS forum that it could be down to power consumption?

The Titanium Smart LNB uses 110 mA

The Supreme Dark Motor uses
Power Consumption : 50 mA (Standby)
200mA (Normal)
350mA (Max.)

I can't get up to the dish to unplug the LNB... It's too high for me, I'm too much of a coward heh

Is this possible though? The Openbox moves it perfectly now, just the TBS card.

Is it possible it could be related to LNB?

Yes, very likely. My 7301 was completely incapable of driving the 1.2 and Dark Motor when switched to whichever polarity gives 12V and would crash Dream everytime, I didn't try it without the LNB because the Black Ultra isn't up for negotiation. It was a bit more reliable on the other polarity giving 18V but not 100% so rather than fry the card I chose to switch to a 36V motor option, a much better idea for a number of reasons.

Not got a TBS 6925 but do have a TBS 8920 (a much much more basic DVB-S2 PCI card) but have had no issues driving (first) a Navigator #2 DiSEQC motor and, more recently, a Supreme Intelligent Dark Motor.
