Ah, I am getting a lock on my Penta 85 on 10806H but that's the Amos 2 transponder, not Amos 3. Remplap, are you getting anything off Amos 3?

jcm, can you test 11389 on your Gibby? Will be a good comparison with Fibo once up.

Wow, what a weak transponder. Will certainly be a good stress test.....

I think the strength on the amos 3 transponders varies wildly for example

Tv2 Amos 3 10759.00 V 2 Hungary DVB-S2 8PSK 30000 2/3 is booming in at 75% on my channel master

Enter Film Amos 3 11389.00 H 10 Hungary DVB-S QPSK 27500 3/4 a very 36% as i type this

Hm, looks like there are different strengths between H and V polarisations.

Similar variations in the same transponders as Zorch here on the Sussex coast using my 1.2 Gibby.

OK, so I made a cardboard cut out of what I need doing. Basically, I would want to cut the existing bracket pretty much in half and attach a steel plate to the other half with cardboard in the pictures being the plate - the front to be retained (attaches to the dish) and the back discarded.

A bit destructive but I think it will be more robust than screwing the steel plate to the existing holes. Plus I am also concerned about the angle of the dish if I do this and there not being enough declination adjustment. Am I correct in thinking this?

I based the cut out on the fixed mount for the Channel Master dishes which has the same size and hole locations as the polar mount.

I've also attached pictures of the broken nylon roller on the original motor.

Hah, I wasn't in the habit for naming my dishes but with the number that I have now, I should start differentiating them.

So:

1) Fibo - Twiggy.. or maybe just Twig? Sounds more male.
2) Penta 85 - ? Van Pelt
3) 1.2m Channel Master - ?
4) 1m Channel Master - ?

This should probably be split off to another topic though!

Dropped off the bits at my local metal works place - said it should be done within the next day or so. Will report back when I have the bits back.
