hi -
i dont have a tm 5400 - but it is advertised as C band capable
i,m away from home on holliday at the moment -so so cant look at my tm.1500 to see how it is done on that model -i have used it for C band in the past
check again to see if C band standard is included in l.n.b. settings --
you may have to input "5150" manualy in the l.n.b frequency section - after choosing the correct "type"
have a play around --- sorry i cant advise better at the moment --

regards n_b

Still there, but it is quite a bit harder to receive since the change in FEC. Maybe the summer sun is frying your LNB.

FWIW I too have noticed a drop in signal level from this mux in the last couple of weeks ..
The newer LJBC mux on 4102 R

Is very strong here ..relatively speaking ...
so either its down to a reduction in power ...a wobble on the fringe due to the time of year ....or as Huevos suggests the change in SR ..
However I didn't notice any problems until the changed the FEC ..to 5/6

For me that is slightly weaker SNR than 4052 but much easier to lock due to the FEC.

Hmmm ..thats interesting Huevos ...particularly as I've just performed a small though totally unintentional experiment ..
In order to scan for anything being broadcast from Chinasat @1.5E ..
..I moved the dish approx 1.3 degree westward from Rascom...
and removed the dielectric plate as Chinasat is supposedly H/V only...
I got nothing from Chinasat ...but even off target and without any depolarising plate ...I had no trouble pulling in the Libyan mux plus AFM ...during the blindscan ..
The F15 didn't however pull the Congo Kinshasa mux from the ether..
I suppose this verifies what I've already posted ...in that it is now the weaker of the three broadcast signals.

Not according to the spectrum. Anyway, blind scan needs to lock onto a transponder to be able to discover its channels.

On the Duo the SNR for pixel free (error free) viewing is 32 for 3/4 FEC and 40 for 5/6 FEC. If you compare the error correction between those two FECs you'll find 3/4 has 68% more bits devoted to correcting errors and only carries 90% of the real data compared to 5/6 FEC. In real terms that means 3/4 FEC has 75% more correction for each block of real data, which in my experiments seems to equate to an increase to the next dish size up (50, 60, 75, 90, 120, 150, 180, etc).

the SR has changed once again on the congolese mux.the new SR in 10889V(4052V10889 5/6) instead of 4052V10150 5/6. according to teleconsult the official broacaster of the the congolese tvs on rascom, the change has been made to improve the picture and sound quality.
