Are Burden and Best the toot-suckers?

Must confess I've lost track a bit and would welcome an Executive Summary.

Was going to report this post as I was unable to correctly identify the last word.
However, after the next can hissed I got it.
Shirley (!) the name should be " Burden them Best " ?

You paid him before work has even started?

I don't pay Tradesmen until the job is completed satisfactorily.

We agreed I would pay some of the money before hand.

To cover materials etc.

Got another few thousand to pay out at the end of the job also.

And to top it all off, I have another bill for the roof in Sherborne.

Oh, dear. You do seem to be having an expensive year.

We have split our Roof repair into two projects, one recently completed and the rest to be done next year ..... by the same guy: I liked his work ethic and quality and he liked the fact I settled the Bill instantly and without quibble.

Paying up front? As you yourself stated " I don't pay Tradesmen until the job is completed satisfactorily. "
For the second,
" Got another few thousand to pay out at the end of the job also.

And to top it all off, I have another bill for the roof in Sherborne. "

I think my opprobrium needs no explanation what so ever!

Ah, I thought you might have taken umbrage at the "Yorkshire Method", being a Tradeschap tha sen.

Ambiguous, hence clarity required.

Gotcha now ;)

However, going back to the word used, which everyone had to look up, I like option 3!

Sounds the most viable

"the critical opprobrium generated by his films"
synonyms: vilification, abuse, vituperation, condemnation, criticism, censure, castigation, denunciation, defamation, denigration, disparagement, obloquy, derogation, slander, revilement, reviling, calumny, calumniation, execration, excoriation, lambasting, upbraiding, bad press, character assassination, attack, invective, libel, insults, aspersions; More

I made an agreement with the chap, so I am just sticking to what we agreed.

And the rest will be paid out in instalments as the job progresses.

Plus I paid him via fast pay. So I have a record if I need one.

Day 1 was an absolute wash out.

As they were ripping up my old roof first, and due to the fact it's been pouring down all day today :-(

Hopefully day 2 will actually get some work done.

Fingers Crossed.
