Hello.

I am in South Tenerife. 20 mins South Playas de la Americas. I have a 3yr old SKY TV box. I look for decent instructions , best advised satelite frequencies too. To get more than 5 Uk Tv Channels here at home. I set my LNB to SKY NEWS. I only got 4 channels . Sky news, Pick, Pick+ and Sky Arts. There was x2 Virgin subscription channels too. I did chnage my default transponder frequency too.

Ant tips from you Frequency guys,,to get at least 10 Channels ?
any help appreciated.

Merry Christmas to all

What size dish do you have? You need something like a 3m+ dish to receive anything from the UK beam.

SeaTel 4004 is a 40" dish (about 1m) according to Google. Can you adjust the LNB skew? The satellites at 28.2°E have an offset of around 7° counterclockwise when looking at the dish face from the front.

You have no chance of the 28E UK beam channels in Tenerife unless you use a VERY big dish as already mentioned. The best you are going to get is some of the news & entertainment channels on the European beams.

If you have any wwiss contacts you might want to try to get a Kabelio subscription over on the Hotbirds instead - they carry the main UK PSB channels encrypted on widebeams.
Cheers...will i get that on SKY TV receiver ?? Read a bit about default frequencies
You will get some of them. You should already have Pick & Pick+1 as thats on one of the frequencies you already have.

As you say the Sky receiver is from 3 years ago is it a Sky Q box? They require a different type of LNB and may be why you aren't receiving many channels.

Hi . Offset

Offset 7 degrees ? is this the skew pole of LNB ?.. i have the skew pole -40 degree just now..This angle information taken from a marine V-SAT web site. I am not too sure if this angle is correct. I did notice the signal level go up slightly. I also could see a NID value, on my controller for the first time.

I have to enter the frequencies into antenna controller. DAC frequencies they are so called. . Small bit of maths needed with the Satelite frequencies.

What website are you getting the settings from? According to the manual default skew setting is 0030, I assume that is for zero degrees. POL OFFSET is the setting name, so for 7 degrees offset I think 0023 would be the correct value.

The Pick TV transponder is probably the strongest where you are, it is 12070 H 27500, enter that into the controller.

I am getting the frequencies of here. I just uploaded an image of my sky box settings & controller Skew settings.

As for the controller. I have to enter the Sat frequencies slightly different. As image shows..I can only enter 5 digits. This is called a DAC frequency. I am informed.

Yes, that's the TP frequency 12070 minus the LNB High Band Local Oscillator frequency of 10600, presenting 1470 to your decoder.

For low-band Transponders, the entry you need to make is the TP frequency minus the LNB Low Band Local Oscillator frequency of 9750.

The switchover between Low and High Band is around 11700 MHz, IIRC.
