Hi all,
Hoping for some help figuring out what happened to our freesat system 4-5 days ago.
Went to bed with everything working fine. Got up the next morning to literally no signal on every channel on our downstairs TV - went upstairs to check that one and only sound coming through, no picture.
Had a shuffle around online and from what we read thought the LNB might have given up the ghost in the middle of the night so ordered a universal one that we've since fitted but has made absolutely no difference - still the same issues on both TV's.

There were no storms or anything that might have misaligned the dish, no one has access to the back garden and no visible damage to wires ( these were installed new 3 years ago).
Completely stumped!

If you have sound it is not the outside equipment.

You may have a backlight fault on the television, pressing the menu button should verify this (no menu = screen issue)

TV is fine, we have a Roku and watch stuff from that no problem. It's just the satellite side of it that seems to not be working. Never had anything like this happen before so completely at a loss.

Just to add, we have 2 Edition Picco S2 receivers - one for each TV. I could understand if one had turned up it's toes in the night but both at the same time with one showing menu and sound but the other no signal at all? Very odd indeed.

Try swopping over the HDMI cables.

Tried a new hdmi just now - still no joy.
We've tried swapping over the Edision boxes from one TV to the other with no change also.

On the upstairs TV that has sound but no picture I've photographed the menu bar just in case that helps in figuring it out at all.

Also strange that the menu bar has moved from the bottom of the screen to the middle and is much smaller than it was when everything worked ok.

Just tried another workaround to see if it was the hdmi port that was failing and tried connecting via scart lead..this also made no difference.

Anyone any ideas at all what else we could try?

Why is your receiver stating 31.5E?

We changed the LNB but tried to replicate the original position so not sure if we got that right? Obviously we don't know also if someone could have messed around with it so we lost signal (not sure why anyone would?) but you never know .

Your signal quality is 90%.

Can you do a blind scan, on your receiver?

Can you please post some pictures of the menu options.

What model are the Edison receivers?

Ahh..so it needs realignment?

I just checked on a website called Satsig and it gave the following info for my location - not sure if it helps shed a bit more light.

I wasn't sure how to choose which satellite but it gave the following info:

Latitude = 53.4223, Longitude = -1.0736
Lat = 53 degrees, 25.34 minutes North
Long = 1 degrees, 4.42 minutes West
If you want to point a satellite TV dish at the Satellite at = 19.2 East orbit longitude

Beam elevation= 26.2, Azimuth= 156.9 (magnetic compass), Polarisation= -14.4

Polar mounts only: Main angle= 54.1, Downward tilt= 6.9, Motor drive sideways angle= 22.2

(Optional) Pointing angles to satellite orbit longitude
19.2 East ASTRA 1M

You must select the satellite first and then click on the map. If you change satellite, click the map again nearby the original point till the satellite pointing angles calculate again.

The Edisions are Picco S2s.

We've tried a blind scan on both TVs - downstairs finds nothing at all and upstairs just finds sound but no picture (some channels the sound only lasts a few seconds, on other channels the sound stays on).

Hi I've only just realised that the upstairs Edision is a Proton S2 not a Picco. I remembered that we bought them at different times.

Could you tell me please what specific settings would be most helpful to photograph?

All the Menu options, but as you've now provided a model I can search for an Edison Proton S2 manual.

Done that and rescanned. It seemed to find channels but after it saved at the end still sound but no picture. Photo below from end of scan. IMG_20240218_141447952_HDR.jpg
