Nice to see you both getting some use from the extended Ku-Band LNB's from the mini group buy.
Please wake me up when there are pictures :)
Probably be used for data as guess..

Moonbase, cheeky question do you have more to sell? Or a link to the site where they came from??

I bought them from Anhui Bowei via Ali Baba I think, I had to pay the supplier directly which fits in with Ali Baba.
They normally have a minimum order, I think it was 10 units?

I might have more to sell but they aint gonna be as cheap as the cost price of the mini group buy.
If I have more to sell I will create a Chinese Junk LNB's topic in a for sale classified on the forum.

Not that I know of but I'm sure SMW would make one for $loads. They do a range of single band BDCs with a separate LNA that includes a splitter. However, the current LNA does not cover >13GHz. Professional Ku Band Dual system for satellite receiving ($2k+) and 13–15 GHz LNB/BDC from Swedish Microwave | smw.se

It looks like there's some testing on horizontal today. There were short bursts on 13628 and in 40MHz steps below that. The 1st plot was taken slightly off vertical. Live = blue, max held = magenta. (13560 is spurious). Polarisation set to horizontal for the 2nd plot.

Just spent the last hour trawling Aliexpress / Alibaba etc but couldn't see anything that covered that whole range. These upper Extended Ku lnb's / lnbf's are also classed as 'project' items.
** Sband - spotted some higher frequency bursts on Vertical but too slow to capture it. I also switch frequently between H/V but missed the H bursts - i'll catch 'em at some point :Y

I think that 13628 and the 40MHz spaced bursts were all H as I had the skew slightly off V. I'll leave it running set to slant pol and see what turns up. There's been nothing since the captures above.

Just wondering, what's the chances of catching some of this extended KU band activity by simply using our current universal LNB's? I think most people can pull in the amateur stuff on 26E that uses extended KU at the low end of the band (10490-10500), so wouldn't it be possible at the other end of the band too?

The ones I've looked at (Octagon OSLO & SMW WDL-E) fall off a cliff at around 13GHz. I'm using an SMW 12.25-12.75 with an 11.3GHz LO. The gain is around 25dB down but the NF is usable at around 2.5dB with small mods. If you wanted to drive a standard DVB tuner you'd need to replace the gain but filter out <12.75GHz as it will overload if you point at a normal satellite.

@John They ran 13428V carrier up and down for a while earlier. I noticed that the beacon (if it is that) on 13401, went up and down with 13428 then returned to it's normal level. The beacon was about 15dB down for quite a long time. That suggests that the beacon is uplinked and not generated on the satellite.

Looks like they are testing with some mod on 13428V and 13628V. I'm not sure if it's DVB or something else. The carriers are not simultaneous with mod.

...It's a bit hard keeping up with them at the minute - here's 13.631 V or thereabouts at high level at about 9.20pm, 13.654 V was spotted just a bit earlier

Some would say 'puck off' ;)

You might also get away with a frequency extender, the Global ADX switchers of old could shift both down and up by 500MHz.

The main issue will be the strangulation by mechanical dimensions , depending on the LNB you choose.
A WR75 transfer has a theoretical cutoff of above 15GHz, and most devices can achive this since all measurements of the rectangular waveguide are standardised, but a Universal LNB design with circular port has additional restrictions beyond the throat diameter - feedhorn measurements/scalar rings/end trap to probe distance - impacting on the linearity of the optimum standing wave ratio beyond the 12.75 GHz point.
