Questions are no problem at all - the only thing to remember is that you may have to wait a few hours to get a reply as the majority of our staff & members work full time. :)

No problem.I know that. I just wait. Meanwhile, I have been looking in the old treads to see if I find something that could give me some help. There are lots of things on it. But a bit old as well...

Yes, we tend to leave old Threads open unless there's a specific reason not to. You never know what might be useful, even though most of it probably isn't.

Why can I buy this device on Amazon? Why do some installers here like The Satelite Shop UK, satellite TV Europe? I think it's illegal they could not do propaganda. Thank you for informing me that I believe you are in Madrid, right?

En Amazon lo publicitan (no disponible)/In Amazon it advertises (not available).

Note: High management included in the price

It is much cheaper, but they have to manage high, included in the price (luckily).

....Hello, Some people here in UK are trying to sell it. I have put in my previous message about it , and people are dubious about it. The Satellite Shop, Amazon, Satellite TV Europa are all advertising . Many thanks

--------------
If we travel in time, year 1980-84, long-range mobile phones are not illegal sale, but can not connect to phone lines, no joke, even "The English Court" sold them, so prices then (1800-3000€uros), in more of a City Hall, fire station in the villages had them.
These DTT receivers are not forbidden to sell, they have to be activated legally, but some are already "pre-activated".:-rofl2:-doh

TDT put in a hold....:-ohcrap . Very expensive, lots of red tape through to get one in Spain and will go in Christmas to Tarragona and hopefully I can get one.
Now then, I will concentrate to put my motorised dish up.
Has anybody had a look in.my previous post regarding to the motor? Any advice yet?
MANY Thanks, Gracias.:-dancer1

Most motors work well.
The Stabs are the very good stuff.
The Technomate is good (from what I read).
The Black Motor is also ok.
The very low-priced ones are to be avoided.
So, you generally have the classic relationship "you get what you pay for".

For ease-of-mind, get a Stab-90, and stick an 80-90 cmd dish on it.
This is likely to keep you happy for years.

If Stab's to expensive, get one of the others, your mileage will vary accordingly.
(This is to mean that some motors (even of the same brand) wears out faster than others; rust, bad manufacturing, general wear, lack of lubrication all contribute.)

Not sure I agree about the low cost Motors: I have a Moteck SG2100 and a Fortec Turner and they have endured years of use and abuse (Near max. specified dish size vs., spec plus wind-loading) without issue. The former was 40€ and the latter 30€, so a good return on investment.

Most instances of failure I've seen reported are spread across the board.

Indeed, with an 80/90cm dish as suggested, which is well below the usual quoted max. of 1.2m, any H-H Motor should suffice.

Any ideas about the cables. Any suggestions? Do LNBs have a better quality as well or it really doesn't make difference as some prices are ridiculous more expensive than others? Thanks.
By the way, I will put it up in my chimney and I need some advice about the fixing stuff . MANY thanks.

Be VERY VERY careful mounting the dish on a chimney. The wind loadings will be immense in a storm and its not unknown for chimney stacks to fail in storm force winds due to the immense torque the dish puts on them - and end up going through the roof!

Also if the motor seizes or needs attention its difficult to get to.

Thanks for the information. I thought that as well but in the back garden, I have my bedroom wall and it is all tiled so I have to have a massive pole to go above the roof a bit as I have one tree that in spring/summer makes signal goes way.:(

There is absolutely no need to mount the dish higher than necessary. A good way to check the suitability of your chosen site is whether you can see the sun without obstruction at the "sun outage" time (this is when the sun is directly in line with the satellite and behind it). Find these times on site below - merely locate your position on map and change satellite to the one required

The Moteck DiSEqC motors are fine and less expensive than the Stab. Should serve you trouble free motoring for years..
