Not really surprising - BBC3 HD hasnt launched yet!

That's why I took CBBC HD as example ;)

But some HD services never have been active on 27.5W though they have an entry in the PAT and SDT like STV HD, UTV HD. Besides, there is no bandwidth left for additional HD services ( <5Mbps null packets).

I have been given a Technomate TM500. Does anyone know if this will work on this sat? If not, what is the cheapest box that will?

No - I mean it hasnt actually launched yet - probably end of the year sometime.

I presume BBC RB HD is still carried on here too? There doesn't seem to be much on RB HD now apart from an out of date preview loop for events that happened over the summer! It was suggested BBC Three/CBBC HD wouldn't arrive until after the end of November when the beeb use the Red Button HD feed for the Dr Who 3D special. Maybe this will happen sooner and the 3D broadcast go on on BBC Three HD? After all it's only a 3hr special one Fri or Sat evening in late November.

The Technomate works flawlessly and doesn't seem to be affected by changes in the transmissions (scrambling the PMT, etc.) that cause problems for other receivers.

Does anyone know if there is a PVR receiver that is equally reliable? - Being used to Sky HD I will have difficulty adapting to not being able to record programmes in the same fashion. Lack of EPG will also be a problem I think!

You can record with the TM using an external USB Hard Drive or Pen Drive although you would have to set it by time, rather than EPG, like the old days of VCR's :-rofl2 You will just have to look up the times of programmes on t'internet or buy a paper. :D

With all these new BBC HD channels and +1 starting they either need to start a second mux or kick off the commercial HD channels...

The weapon of choice would be the Technomate TM5402HD, £135 from various suppliers. :)

They cost that on eBay "Buy it now", but auctions usually close at about £80.

Just an update, BBC One is no longer BBC One London. It was BBC One Network when checking on the local opt outs diuring the news. Cut to the BBC Holding card of the BBC logo moving
Do you mean the "BBC One HD" caption or something different? The BBC One HD one says "BbC One HD cannot yet show your local programmes...". Next time you see it can you please get a jpg of it please? I was under the impression that the network bbc1 had London at weekends, for the two five minute bulletins, with BBC news Channel at 1830 on weekdays, not sure about 2225 on weekdays.

And, at Breakfast is it not London?

the next opt-out is at 1810 on Sunday. If someone can check, would be most grateful to know what is there. Thanks.

BTW which news bulletin were you checking - ie what time of day?

Whats the difference with the M2 version?

It has different 'PhantomPatch' firmware and some extra 'security' features but otherwise is the same as far as usage goes.

BBC One (not regional or HD versions) carries BBC London on weekends and the BBC news channel at 18:30 and 22:30 indeed. It is still BBC network as I've checked a day ago

no, it isn't
Interesting, didn't realise that. Obviously as it's temporary and the DSAT backup is a DR feed if BT's main MPLS TS distribution fails they are happy to loose it for a particular site loosing both it's two primary MPLS derived inputs.

Thanks. Can you please check tomorrow to see what goes out during Breakfast and at 13:30? Also, there is the 1958 local window - after the headlines just before Eastenders, there is a weather forecast on HD - would be interested to know what happens then. mI wonder what goes out during Inside Out?

Thanks.

I'm a night guy so can't really check Breakfast but I can do the rest if I remember sure.

Thank you very much. Will be curious to know - 1330 I still don't know, and with Inside Out on later, that will give an answer HD shows different regions on rotation so it will be interesting to see.

As for Breakfast, the earliest is 0625 , the latest at 0903 approx Monday-Friday.

Thanks again for your help.

Keep an eye on the CBBC HD and BBC3 HD - placeholders appeared on Freeview this morning. Please can someone confirm PIDs and SID when there is any video and audio on 27 west? Thanks.
