The figure of 8 is just something perceived by the viewer, not something the satellite actually does.
Agreed. The figure-of-8 often quoted is what it looks like from earth. What you can't see is the satellite actually moving away and coming back during this movement.

2x Pace 2600 C1 (in a box just in case) , 3 x Humax HD Foxstat (2 of which in store as spares) . 3x Manhatten Plaza - Pasat 2.4 PF dish mounted on flat roof with Invacom C120 quad LNB .

Massanassa, Valencia, Spain
Strange thing tonight on 7pm local time - decided to watch BBC news on freesat but accidently selected 212 instead of 200 - was really surprised that it was breaking up a lot - something I have not had on any channels for many years now apart for outages and extreme weather and none of that today! Any reason why? Its not that I look at 212 normally but am just interested. I could find no other channels exhibiting the same problem but confess I did not check everything - just the ones we normally view.

Now´t wrong with signal here on the very badly aligned 1.2 Laminas on the fixed mount.
Could be a bee problem, has been known!

Would not have expected any problems here on a clear day with our 2.4m dish in Valencia - in fact the opposite is sometimes the issue - too much signal and the need for an attenuator for some strong channels! This same setup even used to pull in everything in 2D days without issues and so now is very much overkill for the new sats - so why would 212 start breaking up?
Will see if the same happens tomorrow!

Maybe your Freesat box is about to blow up.

I can live in hope! - I have wanted a new box for a while - alas that one keeps on going so I'm told I can't have another! In fact all my boxes keep going - I still have 2 of the old Pace 2600Cs which seem to be indestructible and are used by the kids, plus two cheapo Manhattens which do what they are supposed to, and 2 Humax Freesat HDs - both of which despite being the best receivers of the pile, are the only ones which have given any problems with their power supplies going pop!
