I've used them on a couple of blocks of flats, very well made dishes and perform well.

rolfw, would you say that the 90cm version was worth 100 notes ? and also doesn't seem to be a polar mount for them ?

would they work well on a motor ?

makes my choice much harder now

Not sure I'd pay £100 for one, but then again that is the retail price. They are pretty heavy for a Diseqc motor and if there is no polar mount available, then that would be the only option, unless you could make a back plate for a Jaeger 1224.

well that counts that one out then as it would need to be used on my diseqc motor for a while

the important thing is the cost v performance over my system i have now as

a gibertini 1metre
polar mount
12" actuator
vbox
4 core cable etc
comes to around 150 quid

or

andrews dish 90cm or 1m
jaeger smr 1224 motor
4 core cable etc needed
around 330 quid

so theres a decision

thanks for replies

the jaeger 1224 has inclined orbit option too i see on satellite superstore

how does that work ? do you need two positioners ?

sateuropa has the 1224 for 149 pound so may be better to buy separate

Yes, you have a second positioner, but unless you have a particular need, it probably isn't worth bothering with. :)

thanks so i can discount them from the list

the trouble with the andrews dishes is they look heavy and whether my current mount will take the weight

for those with large dishes on t&k mounts would you say 18" t&ks will give enough standoff for a 1metre dish as i want to get 30east to 30west at least

also i may mount it above the roof as that looks the best place for signal as its ok now but we want the best

so how much high will the dish need to be to not smash into the roof as cant get past 30east due to a massive tree and i should get past 30west due to the really clear view but never tried

edit cant really go for the andrews/1224 due to money as i thought i could but cant now so will a 1metre gibertini dish with polar mount/36v jack be a good upgrade on my current system ?

thanks

24" T&K's gave me 45E to 68W on a 1mtr dish easily,(below the guttering) with a bit more if needed. I'd go for 24's just to be on the safe side. I only get round to 36E with the current antenna to give to some idea of how much you lose when you go up a size or two so it's 36's for me when the weather settles.

The thing is dishes like andews and prodelin are professional dishes and will last years installed loads of andews & prodelin 1.2m on the ground and above roofs on houses in gardens also on banks and offices and petrol stations for vsat & tv/radio and have never had a problem asl ong as it is installed correct you will have no problems at all

i already got some 18" t&k brackets up holding my triax 88cm nicely but want to make sure i can get at least 30e-30west

house wall is south as checked on google earth

24" would put the dish too far out as check my pic in the systems forum

remember that the andrews needs to be on a 3inch pole also how far can you get past 28'5east with your current dish

There are a couple of things you may need to change, the Jaeger 1224 sits on top of the mast and the dish will also be closer in. you may need to use longer T&Ks, better 2 K brackets and reposition your Sky dish, as it won't be able to sit on top.

rd100 not possible to get anything past 28e as theres a big tree, cant the 1224 go on a 2inch pole it not strong enough ?

rolfw

i was going to move the sky dish further down anyway and yes i think i would need longer t&ks and redrill them, for 3 inch pole

i cant be doing too much as its my mams house only stay here as shes not well atm, surprised she let me put that up so will need to do it so that its a simple upgrade and not redrill holes everywhere
