yes i do have a tm1500ci here as well, i bought the vantage as it had blind scan as the technomate i have here is the tms version with very slow blind scan

the receiver is very sensitive as i can pickup mbc on 26east with a 90cm dish, i can also get 4west megasport channel which i didn't on the tm1500

the vantage also has a positioner setting which works better with my vbox - 36volt motor
Sounds promising as I have the fast blindscan tm so if the vantage improves upon the slow blindscan sounds really good.

Whats the best vantage model or are all the tuners as sensitive as each other?

Did say the Vantage was one of the few stbs to beat the TMs .. excellent example Wod.

The newer TMs (5000 series) have a far better blind scan now but I don't think they are any more sensitive when we tested them they just upped the numbers so it could be that the Vantage is still more sensitive.

the vantage can go to about 38% on the signal bar and still lock, what i do find is better on the vantage is feeds on 10east and thor 3 1west reception. i can also receive 24w, 27w. still to try 31w or 34.

also once you add a tp and exit the menu and go back in. it will sort the transponders back into order.

depends on whether you want cam slots or card slot. i have the x221s which has 2 conax card slots (multi crypt when patched) and 2 cam slots

vantage also have a hd receiver out with hardware blind scan the 8000s, with dual dvb-s2 tuners etc

i would say so as they will use the same tuner in the receiver but its just the card slot/ cam or fta option to choose between them

i didn't need the 2 card and cam slots but just bought the model with them in anyway as the price at the time was only a little bit more

if you dont need any of them just get the fta option which will be the cheapest

not sure what manhattan xt range are like as they do blind scan too and have a good tuner well the plaza st 500 one did i thought

yes, if your current receiver works well there's no real reason to spend unless your interested in feeds or whatever

what's the rest of your system as might be worth a upgrade of dish or lnb etc over a new receiver first

1m dish (its on tk above the gutter so can't go bigger) change between dark and titanium lnb's.

Bit more signal really for feeds and 26e, like I said the tm I have apparantly doesn't have a sensitive tuner but is fast at scanning.

Only other option is the tm5400 compared with the vantage?

1500 I thought would be about the same - perhaps not...

what S/Q numbers do you get on the 1500 ... on 26e and what is the Q break up point on the 1500

@60 drops to 20 approx
<=63 no pic
64>66 ok
67> perfect

On mbc1 @26e in the last couple of days its gone back up from 62/63 to 65/66
City 7 @7w during the day 62/63 (does go up later at night)

So a small difference would bring me a few more channels

I see what you mean... there are so many versions of that model (and others) ... some 1500s break up at c. 20% others .. 39% I think?

On recent 5400s on a well peaked 1m we'd expect c. 49% Q breakup and mbc2 on 26e 78% peak in mid UK (E Cheshire) ..so some margin there. City 7 some margin but not as much if it's peaked out on MBC on 26e.

*********************

Are those the same breakup figures on your 1500 Wod?

Vantage 8000hd does a fine job scanning blindly and also tuners (have two) are very sensitive.
Don;t know of any other mentioned in this thread, but I have experience with many from the recent past.
Beside,it can also blindscam dvb-s2 feeds, which is a super plus.
Actually bought it ONLY because of this feature, and didn;t disappoint me at all.

3-4mins that will be on a 5mhz step blind scan as i so much doubt it is that quick on a 1mhz blind scan

the vantage is quick in 4-5mhz step scan taking a few minutes but once you get down to the finer scans 1mhz steps this takes longer

also the vantage scans both h & v at the same time.

yes the vantage does have signal level bars on the channel banner

the vantage i'm running is the x221tsci which can also receive dvb-t channels too

also there is the nano x 9400 which is very good at blind scan too

Hello Wod,
Thank you for taking the trouble to post those screenshots, I might get one soon and put the Smart in the summerhouse/shed.

Pedro the Smart is more sensitive than the Topfield but I prefer the Topfield software. As I said I'm considering the Vantage X221. ;)

sorry m8's

but after some days that I got a CT 5000 HD Plus I can say, it has a great blind scan and it is faster than my previous CT 2100 Plus.

I would like to double check that in case you will provide me with a satellite then I will tell you minutes to finish the scan and channels found

HI LAURO... should be still one of the best ... the TM6800 & 6900 have still got a good reputation from recent reports but you need extensive tests side by side really

you could scan Hotbird on a new sat then say 26e ... I think the harder sat could take longer

currently I'm watching some good football matches but tomorrow I will post the results. Can't I get another satellite instead of 26?
Probably you remember in the other thread that from Holland I could get only 2 tp's already with the 2100plus and not in USALS
