The original thread question was intended to find out the reasons why some people can't spell. I have learnt a lot from all the comments.
I am sure we can all enjoy your posts and appreciate the time and efforts you put in them.

Some people who rail against missing or misplaced apostrophes, or who obsess over Less/Fewer, might expect to find an ally in Stephen Fry. But the great man knows better than that.

Spelling is bad enough but punctuation or incorrect use of it is worse,
The Colon = :
The Semicolon = ;
The Apostrophe = ’ many times I have seen some use a comma , instead of an apostrophe
The Hyphen - is also used out of context & a _ Dash is used instead
Parentheses and brackets ( ) [ ] replaced by "Quotation marks" that seems to be acceptable today.
