Advice Needed OCTAGON SF4008

Still no blind scan .hurry up guys !

My Octagon has arrived and I am learning how to use an E2 receiver for the first time. Then I will have to find out what it can do.

DVB S2X is working. I haven't a clue where to start with the Multistream yet. Watch this space.

The tuner is a little more sensitive than my Dr HD.

Where is the channel editor and sorter? That has always been a basic requirement for a satellite receiver.
I feel your pain. Went from F16 to Xtrend ET8500 (openATV) for my fixed T-55 dish.

There is a channel editor called E-channelizer, I prefer it over the more well-known DreamboxEdit.

Still, the ET8500 has a flaw that takes away all the joy I had with the F16, of scanning for new channels.
After a scan, there is quite a mess-up, TV channels are seen as radio or data channels, encrypted seen as FTA, and vice versa.
I don't want to spend hours every time, cleaning this up!
So I hope the SF4008 is better in this respect...

Wait for this box.

Ive been waiting for the last 10yrs or more, developers are more interested in other aspects of these boxes, every time a new box comes out blind scan is on its way and never materialises, I will wait with anticipation.

So we have to buy the SF4008 in Finland ? or did I mis something .

The plugin exists already. Just waiting for Octagon to provide the closed source binary.

Hmm hopefully it will be fully configurable ie scan range limit symbol rate range etc and fast !

Hope so too. It would make this receiver a head and shoulders above the competition.

Huevos, you do God's work my friend!
Did you add the missing MIS transponders from my xml? Also need to add 36W and 33.5W.
satellites.xml creator is my site.

It is updated for multistream.

If you are using an OE-Alliance image the embeded satellites.xml file will also contain multistream data from the next build.

File tested and working on SF4008.

All it needs is the blind scan activated & I will get one :D

OCTAGON SF4008 4K UHD E2 2160p DVB-S2X DVB-C/T2 Enigma2 ULTRAHDTV Triple 2x17GHz
Multi-stream 45 east, 5 west & 12.5 west :)

I'm still considering getting this STB as well, although it will take time for known plugins to be rewritten for the ARM platform.

Are you on Skype? The data in my file is gathered automatically. We need to sort a manual override for when the source doesn't contain contain the multistream info.

What plugins? It only matters if the plugin contains closed source compiled code, otherwise you can compile it for whatever architecture you want.
