today i cleaned out my bedroom there was various junk in storage boxes under my bed such as unused freeview boxes. im still keeping my sky+ and sky+ hd boxes though

Take the hdd's out the sky boxes, finally get some of your sky sub back as a working hdd for pc, sat box etc :D

Take the hdd's out the sky boxes, finally get some of your sky sub back as a working hdd for pc, sat box etc :D
i dont have sky subscription the sky+ box was given to me by my uncle but unfortunately he is no longer with us and the sky+ hd box was from a charity shop

okay but i will keep this boxes incase something goes wrong with my hb-1000s also do you know if quest red will be launching on freesat?

i hope it does because thats one of the reasons why i got freesat because more channels than freeview and better coverage

They are AV drives and not really reliable for PC data use - different error correction firmware etc.

Ive had one of the 80GB drives working as a D drive for three years. No issues yet

considering quest is on freeview and freesat surely a channel from the same owners will come fta on freesat but not on epg

Apologies, you'll have to explain epg on freesat where you live, I'm in Surrey but only have Freeview.

If you're saying that because a channels is available on Freeview then it should also be on Freesat rather than encrypted by $ly then I'm afraid that it doesn't work like that. Yes, most of the FTA channels from Freeview are also on Freesat but not all. It's a commercial decision by the channel owner as to whether they put it out FTA or encrypted on satellite even if it's FTA on terrestrial.
