Guys I contacted a company about a polarmount for my channel master 1.8m offset dish and the sent me a picture of that polarmount, now that to me is not a polarmount that was ever associated with a cm 1.8m offset dish

Any ideas what dish it's used on ??

Looks like one of the universal mounts that until recently were available on eBay from Latvia(?). If it's the same one, it was advertised as being suitable for a 'small dish'.

no matter that polarmount is of no use to me for my purpose.

Guys I wonder if I got a polarmount made up like the polarmount on the cm 1.2m dish would it work on a cm1.8m offset dish.

I mean if course the cm 1.2m polarmount to be made up a lot stronger and using ,10mm steel on the new made up one to allow for it to be robust to handle the 1.8,m would this idea work??

Here is pics of a polarmount that's like the cm 1.2m polarmount but it's made of tougher stuff and very robust and it's on a 2m dish from a friend.

It looks like a clone of the original, I suppose if you put the dimensions into some CAD software and enlarged it by 50% you would get something close to the 1.8m requirements.

You would be better off modifying that IRTE polarmount you mentioned last week, it will last forever with the additional weight of the offset dish once you add a counterweight. Another member (Mapperu ?) was attempting something similar last year.

where would i add the counterweight can you explain please,i understand the strain on the actuator when swinging extreme east and west.but how do i counter this when you mention counterweight channel hopper.

Someone on here obtained an incomplete CM 2.4M polar mount last year, might be worth asking if he still has it?

what hes username?

statalite. I linked to the post which includes photos in my previous message.
thing is though its incomplete.i sent him a message.

No the CM180 is far too heavy for that motor. My 1.2 CM wobbled a fair bit on the motel motor

probaly do on a aluminium dish.
Get confirmation from the manufacturer first.

Unless you have issue with 'personal' opinions, what is stopping the use of your current inventory, modifed suitably for the reflector ?

well as long as you think my irte mount will work sweetly with my cm 1.8m then ye i,ve no problem in modding the declination on the mount.
