My Satellite Setup
240CM Aluminum Prime Focus fixed Dish 19.2E
Inverto Black Ultra C120 Flange Twin LNB
Inverto Black Ultra 3208 Twin LNB
Octagon SF8008 Twin V1

Hi Sat Guys,

I am aiming for at least full SKY DE package, my setup is as follows:

Satellite Dish: 240CM Aluminum Prime focus high Depth Dish (old with most paint worn off, the metal is OK)
LNB: Inverto Twin C120 Flange Ku-band (Classic model not the new one)
DISEQC: Generic 4 sat DISEQC
Cable: Televes CCS RG6 cable
Connectors: Generic F connectors
STB: Octagon SF80008 Twin Tuner old version with Si tuners and no M.2 Slot
Images: OpenATV, OpenPLI and others

Results so far:
440 channels in the summer
600 channels in the winter
idk. how but it happened, maybe the sat signal strength increased some how.

almost half or more of SKY DE is missing

I have got some info that an older inverto pro non flange would provide better reception if customized with a feed horn.

I couldn't find a proper feed horn, it should be a 9 rings flat copper feed horn with custom base mod for the inverto lnb, should be insulated to prevent water and dust from getting inside the lnb sensitive parts

I am also think about adding copper on top the aluminum to improve the signals but i don't know this can be done.

I am limited at this antenna size and used antennas, I cant larger antennas nor brand new ones.

What can I do to get the absolute max performance out of this setup?

Thanks

As we are a technical forum, we ask member to please fill your approximate location in correctly.

The reason for the number of channels increasing is probably Astra 1P coming into service & taking over from 1KR & 1L

I don't like sharing location but any way, have it your way.
What can I do?
This is the max Dish Diameter with best available material and condition, all these are used and very old, still the best I could get my hands on.
The Inverto distributer recommended another LNB model which doesn't support Feed horns, it has a built in 40mm feedhorn

I don't know much about fringe reception, but the first things to check would be:
- parabolic integrity of the dish (e.g. string test)
- LNB exactly at focal point
- feedhorn, matching to the dish opening angle
- correct LNB skew
That would give the highest possible signal quality, to begin with.

Have you done/checked all that?

And by the way, welcome to the forum, @Fringe_Sat ! :-welcome1

Yes but the feed horn is too small for the dish size, its 40mm

He said he was in Cairo,Egypt...

Hi Again, I need someone from the forum to create a custom feed horn for me, specs are 9 rings copper for Ku band on a 240CM deep prime focus Dish with inverto black ultra Twin LNB (old version)

can I add an even layer of copper on the dish to improve signals?

I lost all sky channels I used to receive!
Did they shut down the old satellites?
Is Sky De active on Astra 1P?

will Astra 1N be out of service like the others?
