Using Linux Receivers To Create Signal Graphs

Not really! E2 is the firmware used by Broadcom/MIPS powered Linux receivers. Vu+, Dreambox, etc. It used to be called Enigma 2 but change to just E2 after a court case where a manufacturer claimed rights to the term.

Heh - surely for the term "enigma" there is prior art, and those who originally used it in a technical field aren't really in a position to sue :)

Where can I please download the latest script version from?
Does it scan one selected satellite or a rtange of satellites? Is it possible to limit the scan to 2-3 satellites or to a certain frequency range?
Last version of script is here http://files.inbox.lv/ticket/1f1c8fdee7356b28cef08e33538018fb7d9b6989/zap_to_every_transponder.rar
No need to change anything in the file now, just give command like this:
/usr/script/zap_to_every_transponder.sh 48 192 3592
and then receiver will scan 4,8*E-19,2*E-0,8*W
Not sure about frequency range, see no added value of it.
Anyone interested in seeing this as a proper E2 plugin written in python that outputs an xml file?
I personally would be interested in seeing this script as plugin. Do you have any idea how to make it? I could give you contact of script maker.

Rima, I like the idea of an automated collection of records, but if I did it I'd just write the code from scratch. Basically, the plugin would have the option to select the tuner and the satellite, and maybe some output options. Then press OK and it would do the scan and write the result to an XML file.

No idea. The case was brought in Germany, and failed even though the term is trademarked in the context of information technology.

If you are interested, i have a script to continously connect data from a few transponders on an e2-box. All my graphs are using this data. It requires manual installation, so linux know how is required, but not much. (aka install some packages, edit a script, edit crontab, start crontab). Due to the nature of the measurement a dedicated e2 box has to be used.

I have commited myself to write a small java program over the weekend which runs on an external computer to collect the data only via the webinterface. If that succeeds it would be the option for the people without unix know how.

Maybe I did something wrong but I ran your script like that:
Code:
root@et9x00:~# /usr/bin/zap_to_every_transponder.sh 130
And then I got the following output:
Code:
satPosE2: 48 satPosInst: 0
satPosE2: 70 satPosInst: 0

root@et9x00:~#
And my dish moved from 13E to 4.8E (I only wanted to scan 13E) but I don't think much more happened.
Is there any output file generated?

Edit: I just noticed a file in /tmp: zap_to_every_transponder.CMD
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<e2simplexmlresult>
    <e2state>True</e2state>
    <e2statetext>Active service is now '1:0:1:1897:D:55:300000:0:0:0:'</e2statetext>
</e2simplexmlresult>

In tests this afternoon/En las pruebas de esta tarde con
zap_to_every_transponder.sh

When starting the program, does a test tuner deco sending the reference channel
1:0:1:1897:.D:55:300000:0:0:0: (7:.D with a point to not skip emoticon7:D).

Hexa------ Decimal (if I cluelessness).
1_0_ 1 --- TV
1897 ------ 6295 Service ID
D --------- 13 transponder ID
55--------- 85 Network ID
30--------- 48 ... 4'8 Position the satellite orbital

Change the reference channel BBC 1 HD Scot (11022 V 23000)
1:0:19:22C5:80D2:11A0000:0:0:0:

As not operating the channel searching, fails, but continues the program.
See all satellites / tp we have on file satellites.xml / lamedb
According to what it is eternal.
In my case a 61Oeste 57E (42 satellites).
Thinking it may be a problem, build a channel list only 2 satellites (25'5E and 28'2E) in the file and only satellites.xml tp 25'5Este's assets (and tuned), the program is limited to these two satellites, but the result is the same fellow, shows nothing.

Do something wrong, any idea.?
Care to edit the scrip (notepad++ or similar)

PS: Good fishing.
--------------------------------

Al arrancar el programa, hace un test del sintonizador mandando el deco al canal de referencia
1:0:1:1897:.D:55:300000:0:0:0: (7:.D con un punto para que no salte el emoticon7 :D).

Hexa-----Decimal (si no me despiste).
1_0_ 1---TV
1897 -----6295 service ID
D---------13 transponder ID
55--------85 Network ID

Algo hacemos mal, alguna idea.?
Cuidado al editar el scrip (notepad++ o similar)

PD: Buena pesca.

The java based logger is there.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/e2logger

you need java, a lot of patience and some luck. It's doing one measurement per minute, so you cannot really use your receiver during the measurement.
A measurement of a complete day would be appreciated. I'd love to collect all the logfiles afterwards. i would publish them in the wiki if that is possible.

[http://192.168.1.xxx/web/getAllServices] only gives "Page not found!"
Webcontrol of the box works without a hitch.
I frequently use streaming of programs to different computers all over the house.

"Device Info" in Webcontrol gives this result:
Device Name: dm500hd
Enigma2 Version: 2013-10-01-tarball
Image Version: Newnigma2 v4.0.5 2013-10-06
Frontprocessor Version: VNone
Webinterface Version: 1.7.5

oops. It's all lower case. so /web/getallservices. I'll correct it in the readme.

Just in case - now I drown in channel information!
I will try a testrun with the logger some day when I'm occupied whith other things
than watching the telly.

Edit -my keyborad dose not unredstand mee!

You can use Ctrl+F to find the channels. The ID is also available on the box itself (at least with openpli).
When tuned to a channel, press menu, select information and then service. The service reference should be the last line.

Did you change file's zap_to_every_transponder.sh attributes to 755?
course/por supuesto.
The program runs and changing the channel to test the tuner operation/El programa se ejecuta y cambiando de canal para hacer el test de funcionamiento del sintonizador.

2 Tururu: I do not know what you are doing wrong. When I give command
/usr/script/zap_to_every_transponder.sh 48
than receiver starts to go sat by sat, skipping all except 4,8*E, and within scans all frequencies till gets lock, measures level and goes till end of list. Works for me, should also work for you.
