you may have cold, and rain, but I don,t think you have the wind at the moment. My dish is almost leaving the building , at least you will still have TV in the morning. I cannot be sure about that.

Tivù, just took me 10 mins to work out how to get the accent correct on a spanish keyboard! Do you have an old spectrum analyser in one of you skips? Huevos has offered to help with a problem I have but would like to solve it on my own. New one would cost me +300€ + iva. You know the thread I,m sure

Sorry, Brian, no Spectrum Analyser of any ilk.

(And the only accent you really need is a Yorkshire one)

Boiler all sorted - took longer to get the system to fill than anything else. Air Lock somewhere inaccessible. Had to construct a Fill-Loop to force fill with mains pressure.

£1900 all in: Boiler, Flue Kit, Magnetic Filter gizmo and Condensate Soak-Away plus Chemicals and Plumbing Sundries.

Not too bad, but SWMBO is paying!

And a nice bonus is that it's virtually silent.

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

And you know how important that is to Lady-chaps.

Apart from during the night during the "monthlies" where they're always too warm, so kick everything off the bed, including the snoring hot water bottle on the other side... :-rofl2

Here's one: Those orange nets that Fruit, Onions and other stuff come in - Need a really sharp knife or scissors to get into them in the first place, then have to spend time picking up loads of tiny shreds of orange plastic off the table/floor/fruit bowl.

Tivù, thanks for reminding me about this thread, I forgot about this one! I think next week I will officialy be allowed to join as I hit 50. Then I´ll let you know what really gets under your skin in Spain, and what totally pis***** me off about a lot of the ex-pats who complain " why don´t they speak English here"!

PS I agree about the netting bags, what was the matter with a "proper" brown paper bag!

Touché ... sorry if accent is wrong, spanish keyboard!

Well perhaps I should admit to using a UK keyboard (though I do have a French laptop too). Some (a relatively small minority) ex pats here tend to hunt in packs, inhabiting English bars, eating fish and chips and barely speaking a word of French. They are without doubt, the loudest people in the supermarket......

A bit like wherewolves in the moonlight saga! Here in Spain the Spanish tend to be the loudest, but they have the right, it is their country!

The compromise keyboard that I use is Swiss: not so different from a British or American keyboard but much better for writing French :-) not quite as good for programming but one can't have everything ....
