TurkSat 4A/3A@ 42 East

Publishers Institutions and the month of Ramadan due to our audience the intense demand considering the 14 July 2014 by 15 July 2014, linking midnight, a satellite of our television and radio broadcasts to be made in changes in frequency to a later date has been postponed. Frequency of changes in the coming days will be given information about the history.
 
Right now I have a stable 5.5 dB lock on a 4A East transponder: 12422H 30000 3/4 QPSK.
A first timer for me.
Probably like the previous East beams, it drops off strongly towards the UK.
But since 4A is so new, worth a try I think.

12245H 27500 reaches 7 dB, but that's still not enough because of 5/6 8PSK.
Fully encrypted anyway.
 
don't have any signal on the new 4a west beam. Are they down?
I should have signal on west beam on my location. I have signal on 3a frequencys but not on anny 4a frequencys...

Excellent signals on 12303V here :)
 
12303V is peaking 15.4db down here - 12422H is peaking 5.6db and 12245H although reaching 7.1db nothing comes in when scan is done

umm then the maps that are published are totally wrong. Acording to the maps Portugal is well covered by the West beam.

Unless they reduced drastically the beam power 4A is a totally deception for me. I don't get a snif no signall at all... :(
 
The Turksat site has new footprints.
The Portugal South coast is near the 120/180 cm border of the West beam.

That east-beam looks funny from our perspective (Finland). Tight limit here, same as Baltic countryes. So this time we are part of west Europe, although too many times we are just outside from west or even Europe beams:lol:

i'm aware of this and that's why i'm puzzled...
My dish is a 2,10 prime focus so shoul be able to get them.
But as I mentioned don't get any signals of 4A, so the map could be wrong...

I have looked here before, and got nothing.Have been fiddling with the dish again,so had another look.
Nothing on 12245H or 12422H.
As said above 12303V 27500 5/6 coming in strong.

well after some adjust managed to get 12303v wich seems to be the strongest with about 42% power signal.
the others don't have any signal.
Talked with other mate that lives on Porto further north from me and he managed to get some other frequencies but with weak signal, wich means that 4A comes with slight better signal on north and decreases it's power to the south.
This confirms that the official map published is very different and have nothing to do with reality.

Used to get 12245 H a fortnight ago but not now, not even with a 1.5 Dish. Signal is there, but it keeps playing around never locking,
perhaps a reduce in power? or slight alteration in direction?
 
@ Zorbua, the 5.5 dB the you had (like me) is quite close to the threshold, right now also have no lock, but it's very hot (33°C)! No doubt it will lock again when it's colder.

The West footprint shows reduction of signal towards South Portugal, and that is exactly what you report?
Meanwhile, on another board it was reported that a transponder on the Africa beam is active, 12589 V 22500.
Probably carrying the same mux that VS reported in Ka-band (Tele Sahel).
Here no signal at all, of course, maybe you have a bit more luck on this one?

Yes its quite hot especially here in Malta 33C is normal during the months of July/August. Could be the reason have to wait till its get cooler and that would be somewhere in October:(
 
i think need more 1.5db to get lock
the signal it look better from morning or evening on africa beam ?

Channels back on 3 vertical transponders on 4A + 10966 H 15200 & 11054 H 30000 gives us NTV ,NTV Sport,+Star tv I have not received this since Turksat 1C a few years ago,
HD versions of these channels encrypted on the same transponder,

Just scanning 11700 to 12500 V to see if we have any more surprises are in store :)
