What sort of switch are you referring to?

Also, can you provide a brief description of the antenna system?

If you're referring to a DiSEqC switch, then I have one in line between a Receiver and the Motor on one of my dishes and it happily passes the motor current without issue (They are normally specified up to 500mA pass-through). I have seen posts from others in the past claiming this destroys switches etc, but in all honesty haven't seen any supporting evidence.

Sorry, yes a diseqc switch and a sg2100 motor is what I have. I have a 90cm dish on a motor which does me fine. Also I have a fixed 1.2m dish on 26e, I was hoping to combine the 2.

It's best to rout the coax from the receiver directly to the motor first, then from the motor to any switch.

I use the good RG-6 quad coax with the pure copper center conductor when I wire up any motorized system, this way any voltage drop is kept to a minimum.

Personally I prefer to route thusly ..
LNB Doesn't pass through the motor ...but is seperated via T splitter ...
This method allows for multiple LNBs on a USALS motorised offset Dish with no loss introduced by the motor.
..and of course the motor current does not pass through the diseqc switch.
Just a personal preference really.
