excuse my igorance on this matter! Are obstructions like roofs, trees, distant houses, light poles going to block signals to the dish! To what extent should i worry about this?

I live in Scotland. Is anybody having picture quality concerns with PIK station and other greek channels. I have a 1m dish. Is this sufficient?
