Thanks Nano, will check out what I can when I get access to a ladder. Postcode in profile is correct, I'm in Cotteridge. Thanks

    Boxes keep resetting

Thanks Nano An interesting point as the DM800 may be a clone (based on what I paid for it) however, the problem has only started since a couple of power cuts in quick succession early one morning that killed my DM500. (I was wondering if this may have also damaged the motor) I previously had...

    Boxes keep resetting

Hi Captain The issue doesn't occur without the satellite cable plugged in, so it would seem like it's something to do with dish/motor/lnb. The issue only occurs when changing channel or sending a command to rotate the dish. When tuned to one particular channel the box stays on without...

Dish re-align and possible motor repair/replacement and USALS set up. Birmingham B30

Hi All, I've currently got problems whereby my current motorised set up is causing my box to reset when trying to drive the dish or even just select a channel. I think it could be a problem with the motor or water in the cables etc? Ideally I'd like this issue resolved and the dish...

    Boxes keep resetting

Hi All, Wondering if you can help me. I had an issue where my Dreambox 500 stopped working a couple of weeks ago, so I've sourced an Openbox and a Dreambox Dm800 but am having problems with both devices leading me to believe there might be a problem with my dish/motor or cable. At random...

    Missing satellites on motorised dish

Hi, thanks for your response. It is a DiSEqC motor. Guessing movement is a possibility, the winds were very strong and it is a high and exposed mounting. (Roof of a 3 storey building in fairly open, low rise area)

    Missing satellites on motorised dish

Hi all, Following the heavy winds a couple of weeks back, I've noticed that my motorised set up has lost Thor at 0.8w , Astra 4 at 4e and Eutelsat W3A at 7e. Hotbird at 13e, Sesat at 15e and Astra 1 and 2 at 19.2 and 28.2 are all fine. Would this be a simple alignment issue or something more...

Help with Motorised installation - Birmingham

Hiya, I'm not totally sure as it wasn't me who set it up, however I assume he didn't as I would've thought the set up would've been via USALS if he used 1w as a reference point. I'm actually not at all sure how it was set up. Can anyone recommend someone in the Birmingham area who might be...

Help with Motorised installation - Birmingham

Hi Both, Fraid I can't get readouts or close ups of the scale points just yet, think I'm gonna need a ladder for that (which i'd need to borrow) But in response to the other questions I can get both vertical and horizontal on other birds, including 4e. Horizontal seems to get a better quality...

Help with Motorised installation - Birmingham

Hi Tivù, Thanks for the feedback. How about at 30w, I've heard it may be possible to receive this bird with an 80cm dish. Is there any particular angle you'd like the pictures at? Thanks Andy

Help with Motorised installation - Birmingham

Hi Everyone, I've got a 0.8m dish setup on a motor in Birmingham but I'm having a couple of issues I'm hoping you could help me with. Firstly, instead of using USALS the dish was setup via the very tedious process of finding a signal, searching for channels, identifying which satellite it is...
