Yeah, I must admit to being quite pleased that I got it sorted so quickly. Although, it may still need a slight tweak as I used to be able to receive some transponders on 26°E and 36°E.
It worked! I have all the stronger birds anyway. I want to be able to see the Atlantic satellites but my holly tree has grown like crazy and is blocking the line of sight from about 8w to 30w. Time to get the shears and the step ladder out! :-)
I had my ground mounted Gibertini 1m dish messed with a while ago and I'm just getting stuck into re-aligning it.
Basically, whilst I was away for the weekend, some teenage scrotes that must have been out getting wasted came wandering up my street and one of them (wearing a fancy dress...

I have a Manhattan ST100 receiver which has blind scan. I find it to be fairly quick. Well, if I do a low symbol rate scan (4MHz steps) it can take a while if I scan right from 10700 to 12750 but on the whole, I find it bearable.
If anybody has experience of both the...
Ahh, cheers! :) I'll do a re-scan and see what occurs. I wondered if my setup was a bit off but I can receive quite a lot of channels from Amos at 4ºW, which I didn't think I would be able to.
They must do. It must be what they do in the Netherlands instead of ripping telecoms cables out of the ground and weighing them in.
The actuator isn't all that shiny. It was on a pole above my gutter for over a year. :-P
Well, I've had a 1m ISS there for the past year and nobody touched that. That might say something about ISS dishes perhaps? Although I found it performed quite nicely.
If someone's going to steal it, that's just life. However, they'll look like a complete tool hobbling down the road with a roll...
Just flicking through the channels on Hotbird and came across Tele5 on 10796V SR 27500 FEC3/4.
At this time of night, it's not broadcasting any programmes but the closedown screen is a 2x speed video of the view from a car's windscreen as it cruises round a city at night. The music is sort of...
RSCC Express AM44 at 11º West
Russian Satellite Communications Company test card

Signal 72% Quality 60%
Is there anything else on Express AM44 or is that it for the minute?
Hmm, well it must take longer than I thought it does because it's definitely going further than 9cm!
I think it's about 475 counts between the hardware limits I've set on the actuator. Like I said in a previous post on this thread, I definitely could expand the limits a bit. I could probably...
Oh yes, it came in the blue and white Superjack box. I've still got it somewhere with some fittings that I didn't need to use. :)
It's very quick and much quieter than my previous motor (Jaeger 99G H-H). That thing could wake the dead! I suppose it didn't help that it was driving a Triax TD88...
Yeah the AD3000-IP is driving it. I've also got a Superjack EZ-6000 positioner that I could use. I generally run my Manhattan Plaza as I use the blind scan functionality of it to find feeds. Just watched Everton vs Huddersfield Town on 10ºe a little while ago. Poor Huddersfield!
DARL or...
It's a Jaeger Superjack 12. I'm getting 36ºe to 37.5ºw. i could get more range on it but to start off with, I set the hardware limits quite conservatively. I'm not sure what I'd want further east or west to be fair....unless you lads can think of anything good that I could be missing. :)
Well, It's been a while since I had a motorised setup but I got all the new bits together over the last week or two.
Then all I had to wait for was a bit of nice weather.
The weather smiled on me today so I got to it.
Anyway, here's the results.
