I just though of one thing. Have you tried the null modem method using 'Dreamup'. I think it gives a cleaner download to the box. It takes longer but is more reliable than the net interface.

Well the good news is that you have the latest power supply fitted. So you can probably rule that out. By the way if the power supply is working but the voltage rails are outside the limits then thats what caused my failure.. The message on the LCD. 192.168.2.3 ***STOP** This usually only...

If you can tell me the part number of the power supply (it's printed on the printed circuit board) then I can tell you if its an old version or a new one. I can compare with the numbers on my power supplys (I have both types). Cheers.

Hi giacbus, You could try and re-flash your box, but it probably wont work as its not booting properly. The problem with the power supply (the original version) is that it overheats and then eventually fails slowly but surely. The power supply was redesigned and the newer version runs much...

Hi there. I had exactly that problem sometime ago. It turned out that the power supply was on its way out. I got the power supply replaced by Dream Multimedia (for free) and not had the problem since. I also use the gemini image but your box isn't booting that far. Good luck.

    dream 7025 cooling

Bob, yes I have a hard drive fitted. If you have the new version of the power supply from dream you would find the power supply runs very cool. No fan is necessary, and anyway I would find the fan noise too annoying. The top of the case above the power supply runs at about 35 deg C. The old...

    dream 7025 cooling

If your 7025 is an old version then the power supply does run hot. Thats because its inefficient. I had that problem. I fitted a fan from a pc plugged into the power supply. The trouble with that was you could hear it running. Very annoying. My power supply eventually failed. I contacted Dream...

Adding a CD /DVD ROM drive

I tried this some time ago. I found that the dreambox will only play mpeg or mp3 audio. It will not play AC3 (from the VOB files) via the scart or av output. I can't decode it. So only plays ac3 via the spdif digital output. Thats why it will not play audio cd. They are cda format...

    DM7025 boot problem

I have resolved this problem at last.... :-) I suspected that there was a problem with the power supply so I got in contact with Dream Multimedia. On sending them the serial number and a description of the problem they came back and said it was a known problem with the power supply. The psu in...

    DM7025 boot problem

I had a problem with my box where the video signal kept dropping out. I re-flashed it with LT4 via the network and all seemed fine for about a day then it went off completely. Now I can re-flash via the network or the serial port. It programs up OK. But now when I power up the box does not boot...

Fitting a DVD player to the 7025 IDE

Ok I can't use the standard audio out agreed. But the manual for the 7025 says I can use the digital audio out to decode the AC3 sound. Via a decoder to convert the digital back to analogue. Anybody know of such a device that can connect between the digital output of the dreambox and then into...

Fitting a DVD player to the 7025 IDE

Correction: Not Dreambox Control Center, it was FlashWizard PRO I used to mount the USB stick..... doh!

Fitting a DVD player to the 7025 IDE

Well after much more experimentation this is my conclusion. 1) The latest Gemini Image fixed the blue screen crash :-) 2) I managed to get access to the USB stick and its files. It needed mounting before media player could see it. Could not work out how to do that from the remote control...

Fitting a DVD player to the 7025 IDE

Thanks for all the information guys. So far the DVD is recognised by the system in the device list, so it's definately being detected. I can even open/close the draw using the remote. Problem is I can't see whats on the disk. The media player doesn't see the DVD. I have noticed that this applies...
