Recommend good HD Freesat card for Win7 Media Centre ?

Take a look at the thread I started further down about the Compro S350. Really cheap and works very well for me on Windows Media Centre. I am running the 64 bit version with 4 Gigs of Ram though. It won't handle future HD channels, but works with BBC HD.

    HD Foxsat freesat recorder

Thanks folks - particularly Tivu. The thanks option seems to have disappeared in the new website, although I like the design. Edit What am I talking about? I could have sworn it wasn't there yesterday! He gets installation on the 14th, so we'll just have to try it and see. I have suggested...

    HD Foxsat freesat recorder

Thanks guys - the channels are religious ones available on FTA. I can get all the ones he wants on my Lidl Silverline box. (Not that I want to, mind you!) So let me get this straight then. He will be able to watch the channels he wants. but only after coming out of Freesat mode using a series...

    HD Foxsat freesat recorder

Hi folks a bit late, but I'm just wondering how easy the Foxsat box is to use in non-Freesat mode? My father has a freesat from Sky set-up and it has been a bit dodgy. Dish is rusty, there are poor connections in the cable and his TV is and old CRT one. He has decided to start again and he...

    Compro s350

Did you try the Windows 7 updated software from the compro website? I've just rescanned it and got 634 channels, 210 of them free to air. However I don't really use the Compro software - tending to use Windows Media Centre. I really like it for the EPG, and the ease of recording films etc...

    Compro s350

Hmm I'm on a fixed dish pointing to Astra 2a, 2b and 2d I think.(28.2 E) Unfortunately they are not listed on that website you gave so I have no idea how many channels I should have. The Compro software picks up 614 stations 204 of them unlocked, so I can access them. Windows throws...

    Compro s350

I have a cheap (lidl) satellite dish and box that have been in service for almost 2 years now. Recently when building a new computer I bought one of these satellite cards. It had a few issues in setting up, but these were resolved with the new Windows 7 drivers, from the Compro website...

    Favourite Blu-rays

Well I'm working my way through some Blu-rays. There isn't a great selection in most places and discounted ones always seem to be the same ones, but I've bought some and been renting others. What are your favourites and why? What separates them out from DVD's? A couple I have enjoyed were...

    Installing FREESAT yourself

Well I got my whole set-up for £20. I have a Lidl box and dish. It was on special offer for £29.99 My wife went to get one and the chap said we only have one left and the box has been opened so I'll knock a tenner off! Half an afternoon installing it - the kit comes with a device that takes the...

    Humax Foxsat

I've just bought a HDTV and have a Lidl special satellite dish and box. I have been itching to get HDTV but on researching it I am struggling to get a box that does what I want. I want twin tuners - and a recording system - preferably built in. I'd also like it to handle Freesat better than...

    Where now?

Thanks satelliteman I have begun researching HD boxes. There certainly seems to be a lot of different options out there. I never knew what I was opening myself up to when I forked out £20 at Lidl!

    Where now?

Hi folks another newbie here. i've never really been into the latest technology and have never had Sky. Just after Christmas I bought a satellite dish and Silvercrest box from Lidl for £20. I managed to set it up on Astra and get about 350 channels of mostly rubbish - which I thought was a...
