You cant update the XCam via PCMCIA unless it has been previously patched. You know when it has been patched as it will display "-p" next to its firmware version in the CI menu in your receiver.

www.funcard.net That have their own diagram + software to build your own simple programmer - in the early days I built it and worked well :D However its very simple, the programmer will only program funcards 1-6 and nothing else.

Hi, A friend of mine has just purchased a new MRV cam, and when he inserts it into his reciever its shows UCAS 3.1+ for the slot that it is inserted. Is this normal? I thought it would have to shown something like MRV 2.xx. Does it mean its in 'virgin' state with no MRV firmware on it? And in...

I think it should - the cheap one I got from Maplin uses the Ricoh chipset.

u can install the dreammagic.inf on a desktop PCMCIA, i did it, and so many others... should be really easy to install - worked first time for me.

- one step at a time - read around the fourm and get a good understandaing about what hex files are, CAMS, cards, programming, etc... the answer to ur question is very long :P

mrv220 is kind of old now - u need to upgrade to mrv223
