    Channel Master Type 180/183

We had some very strong winds here recently that toppled my Gibertini 1.5m which was sitting on the stone slabs that you can see in the photos. So this time I made sure it wont happen again! That base is made up of over a half a cubic yard of concrete!

    Channel Master Type 180/183

Sorry if I was confusing. But when I said the dish I got was a CM replica (in post #4) I was talking about the reflector itself. The dishes in the picture are not steel. They are fibreglass dishes made locally from a cast made from an original CM. The rest of the setup including the polar mount...

    Channel Master Type 180/183

Hi Zorbua. I'm in the middle of this 1.8m project at the moment. @ST1 Sorry it was my mistake all along! As I said my 1.8m is face own at the moment and I had measured it from the back. Today I measured the the actual reflector face and it does measure slightly smaller and exactly as my...

    Channel Master Type 180/183

Probably as you say my friend's measurements are subject to rounding errors. My dish was definately made locally about 12 years ago. There are lots of them around and are quite popular. I dont have any photos yet as its still face down in my garden at the moment! But I have these pictures of the...

    Channel Master Type 180/183

Thanks for the info ST1. The fibreglass dish I got has exactly the same measurements as those on page 14 of the .pdf file I attached here. What is confusing me is the fact that a friend of mine who has an original CM 1.8m quoted slightly smaller dimensions for his dish (.zip file).

    Channel Master Type 180/183

Thanks Nelson_B I managed to find the actual dimensions of the Type183(from .pdf manuals on the net) which are 182.2cm wide X 197.2cm high but could not find those for the Type180. Thing is that I got hold of a dismantled CM 1.8m replica (probably of a Type 183 since it has same measurments as...

    Channel Master Type 180/183

Would appreciate if someone can pinpoint the differences between a ChannelMaster 1.8m Type 180 and ChannelMaster 1.8m Type 183.

My positioner is actually badged as GBox and I got it from Pisani in San Gwann. Yes I do get both 2A and 2B North.I am getting 52% snr on ITV 2HD (2A north) and 41% on Goodfood+1 (2B north) as we speak. Considering that the DM800HD locks on anything more than 25% I think you should get them...

Why not buy it from Malta. They are available and at decent prices too :)

    BBC and ITV in Malta?

I would say its probably somewhere between a 1.5 and a 1.8 as mine measures 4'6" across and just over 5ft high. As for the lnb its probably an MTI as they were quite popular here with some installers. Since you are using a dual, the B.E.S.T recommendation has to be considered a bit more...

    BBC and ITV in Malta?

I get E4 and Channel 4+1 on 12480 V 27500 2/3 and at the moment (just after Hollyoaks) signal is at its lowest at 38% SNR on a DM800 that locks signal at anything over 25%. I am using a Gibertini 1.5m offset motorised dish and an Invacom dual lnb (believe it or not I was getting an even better...
