It turned out it was the cable. Already needing substitution since several years, it has always been a difficult task to carry out. Its last bits of quality dropped sharply in few months, coinciding with tree leaves explosion and this added further doubts. Now all is back, and of course not only...

Thank you. In some ways is good news. If it were the satellite, problems would be much bigger, and not only for me. I will try to check my equipment. Now I know it depends on me I can dare to get deeper.

Just to know how much trouble is on my end and what may be caused by other factors: has the satellite signal weakened a bit lately, or should I try to check for grown leaves (already done, actually, but with no apparent improvement)? Thank you in advance for any hint. Stefano

My fears were unfortunately correct. 10964H is dead. A dip in the spectrum for me. I will test at the dish without long old cable run inbetween, but I have bad sensations. Firenze, 180 cm ChannelMaster.

This is my present workhorse. I can do a spectrum directly on the screen, without even interfacing to a PC. I sometimes use it to spot feeds on the fly. Quite raw, but effective. I cannot test locking of DVB-S2 signals. Only still DVB-S receivers here (my upgrade plans somewhat depend also on the 2F footprint)! I used my Analogue LT-8700 as a raw signal analyser to see if I could see any peak at 11023. I posted about it in the old thread, here...
