Hello to all here<
BBc has now left Naples area.
It has now gone to astra 2 F and will require a 4 meter dish in our area.
Ralph
Is it for sure not because of the local weather conditions ? On meteorological sites Napoli looks to be under thunderstorms and rain today. Maybe also some wind that slightly misaligned the dish ?

I am quite sure that if these would have moved to 2F, half of Germany at least would be complaining about the loss, of course only if the signal would be similar to that of 11023H. And up to now there is no single negative report.

Perhaps a speck of space-dust landed on the satellite's transmitting dish and is casting a shadow over Ralph's house. ;)

Still all loud and clear here!
I wish the Beebs had already been transferred to 2F. It could not be better than this!

Read the list correctly.. No other BBC channels are being transferred to 2f for now.. You're only going to lose Channel 5 etc and some itv regions

That's the Astra 4k HDTV test transponder. Signal levels look normal to me.

Edit: Although according to KoS it has now gone.

That's true. I can't receive it so I didn't think about the 4k test. I thought it could be a 2F test. My bad!

So since 2F is taking over 2B payload, when is 2B moving if anyone knows? Just curious, would be nice to optimise my setup with 2F there.

I cannot test locking of DVB-S2 signals. Only still DVB-S receivers here (my upgrade plans somewhat depend also on the 2F footprint)!

I used my Analogue LT-8700 as a raw signal analyser to see if I could see any peak at 11023. I posted about it in the old thread, here :http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/topic/156801-astra-2f-at-28e-at-last/?view=findpost&p=823403
Unfortunately, I cannot see anything there. I hope it is just covered by the strong adjacent 1N peaks, but I do not hold my breath,

Some have told me, that if I do not have a DVB-S2 I cannot make any test. But I suppose I should at least see the carrier. Which I do not.

I am waiting for the announced switch of DVB.S services in the next days (tonight?) to have a better test.

Cheers,

Stefano
