    Ukrainian tv in east midlands

Last bit of info for today, the heads up on the LNB was great, thank you! I read a little about the local oscialltor and I managed to get 11766 and another TP by adjusting the threshold upwards so those TP fall into the lower band. I've not managed to get all TPs yet and the same trick didn't...

    Ukrainian tv in east midlands

Thanks, I've found the spec for the LNB and have the local oscillator set to 9750/10600, still not a sausage, but getting all the other birds just fine. Maybe it's just at a solid spot on that tree, I'll try a 90cm dish with a different LNB at a different point in the garden, when I can next...

    Ukrainian tv in east midlands

By the way, this might help, there is a tree "in the way", about 10-15 metres ahead of the dish, about as high as a house. The centre of the dish is about 2m off the ground. So there is a good change the tree really isn't helping, although other birds are coming through which also have the tree...

    Ukrainian tv in east midlands

Thanks, that's the one I'm aiming for so we can pick up the Ukrainian channels, but just not getting it at all. I've got good signals on Hotbird, Eutelsat 9, 7E and even got a signal on some TPs on Amos 3/7, but, can't get anything on 4E.

    Ukrainian tv in east midlands

Thank you! I was set to universal but I'm using my old Invacom (c120?) prime focus LNB, so I'm trying to dig out what the settings should be for that. I also gathered I was pointing at the wrong bird but it was the only bird I could find that the receiver claims to receive a signal from on that...

    Ukrainian tv in east midlands

HI All, I've finally got around to updating our system since the big satellite change for the Ukrainian channels. However, in Leicester, I can't seem to pick up the Euro beam from Astra 4a. All I keep getting is channels form Eutelsat 7E. The confusing thing is, I'm trying to get to Astra 4a ...

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

I've used the Freesat bouquet and selected my region. I've then just done a manual scan on the transponders I need on Amos and Astra 4A I've got the VIX image

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

Thanks again for the replies. DBEdit did the trick and then using the menu button on the channel for those I missed. It would be difficult for me to use a list the same as a sky box because we don't have sky and don't watch sky channels. It would also be difficult to download somebody else's...

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

Tururu, Thank you for the info, in particular about the port. That saves me time having to analyse network traffic to figure out which ports are in use! My outgoing speed is around 18Mb/s so that should just about suffice :) Does anybody have any links for further information about the Vix or...

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

Hi All, Well, the new toy arrived, and I fully disclosed the full cost. She actually took it quite well! Finally I understand a little more about what a Linux based receiver can do and after getting it set up last night, here's what I've already achieved in addition to the obvious tuning...

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

Vu+ duo just ordered from world of satellite with some optional extras. If the wife finds the bill, you might not see me for a while ... if ever again ... :p

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

I'm looking on world of satellite as suggested and looking at the Vu solo. it has some offerings for firmware, Official vu+, VixTeam, Blackhole, VTi. Would anybody care to share their experience and recommendations? Naturally I'll have the wifi options to save me running another darned cable...

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

Thank you all once again. Can anybody recommend a reliable retailer? Is anybody on here a retailer and therefore could I show my support by purchasing through somebody who is helping me out already?

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

Here's a thought, could I, for example, script additional functionality in a language such as python?

Do I need a Linux receiver? If so, which?

Thank you for a most informative and swift response. I am a software developer and I got used to installing and using Linux back in 1997 when these things were a lot harder so as for getting elbow deep in technical gubbins, the only obstacle is the wife! It sounds to me as if a linux box is...
