Hi guys, just a quick update on this thread.
My Superjack actuator is now once again working and driving my dish :D
For anyone else who experiences this problem of a broken nylon cog/gear there is a solution.
A Traxxas TRA4196 will do as a suitable replacement. It can be picked-up cheaply...
Sprayed loads of petrol and WD40 on to clean the worm up and went with option2.
Slapped marine waterproof grease on worm with a little on ball race.
A little Rocol anti-seize compound on the screws and its sliding in and out a treat :D
cheers guys :-cheers
Thanks for trying mate, much appreciated :-thumb1
Yip, different gearing, Gilly limit switches two compared to a double etc...
The motor, magnet and reed pcb look the same though ......I will keep that in mind when I break one of those!! :D
Hopefully that gear I ordered will arrive tomorrow...
Some of you may have read my other thread and know that I am at present trying to fix my 'dead' actuator.
I was wondering, before I go too far and bust it completely, how and where I should be greasing the arm?
Having split it into two parts I started to unscrew the worm drive, do I......

Well unfortunately it didn’t quite go to plan
A good tight fit on the serrated shaft but the split is still there between the teeth, infact there are two now :-ohcrap
It looks like the gear, although small, is moulded in different sections with a small space, probably for expansion...
Thanks again guys for all your ideas. Went round a mates house tonight who is a plumber and tried every fitting he had in the back of his van :D
Measured the diameter of the collar of the cog/gear and it was 9.6mm which was an awful size with 10mm olives etc. being just a little too big...
Hi again guys, thanks for your input and your possible solutions
@Tivù ..... jubilee clip would be ideal solution but as Vipersan says it would indeed fall foul of the second vertical gear
but I will google what you mean by 'low profile jobbies' later ;)
@Vipersan.....great idea with...
Hi guys,
After many good years of service my Superjack XL QARL3024 stopped working after the particularly cold and windy Scottish winter.
Today I had a look at it and the 20mm plastic cog/gear on the end of the metal threaded rod has split. This metal threaded rod also supports the limit...
... I certainly wasnt Rob :) :)
Put it on with my Invacom feedhorn this afternoon and it totally outperformes my previously used 0.3dB Invacom.
Better on a lot of fringe transponders but the biggest bonus being I can now get a lot more from 5E :)
May try it over the weekend with my matching...
thanks again for the advice Dave.
tried unsuccessfully with DreamBoxEdit1.80 but all sorted now.
backed up my original flash settings with FlashWizard 5.0 then transferred them back after upgrading. Finally transferred the saved config file using FlashFXP and all was restored. :D :D
